Chapter Eighteen: Her Problems.

<ALI's POV>

"Captain's order that we sail to Aqyebro, go to your post and we sail to the west!" Bob shouted to everyone.

"Aye!" they all cheered and they immediately run to their post.

After hearing the news I immediately went back to the kitchen where I've already finished my lunch and now helping Gilas; assistant/ helper of Willy at the Kitchen.

"Thanks for helping me, Miss," he smiled.

"No, problem," I said as he gave me some wet plates which I was drying up with a clean cloth.

The water drips slowly at the plate that I'm holding. Water. Water like the ocean and in the ocean there's siren. I'm a siren. I can't believe it. I can't believe everything. There are still questions that I want to find the answers. Why my mother left me? and Maura told me that we have same hair so it has a possibility that she's a siren too. How about my father? And the dream that I have, maybe they have connections?

"Miss Ali?!"

I was startled that the plate that I was holding fell to the ground. "Oh damn, I'm so sorry," I apologized.

"It's alright, it's my fault for startling you," Gilas said, "But you were spacing out and I was getting worried. I've been calling you but you didn't reply."

I bent down to get the pieces of the shattered plate. "Really? Sorry I was not paying attention to my surroundings," I sheepishly smiled.

"I'll get a broom for that, don't touch it," he said and immediately ran to get the broom.

"What happened here?" Willy asked as he saw Gilas passed him.

"It's not big, just a broken plate, sorry my fault," I answered.

"Daydreaming again?" he said.

"Again? I always do it?" I confused.

"Yeah, on one corner or if you don't daydream you always busied yourself from work," Willy sighed, "Do you have anything that's bothering you?" he asked worriedly.

I couldn't say that I'm having problem about myself. It's not an easy topic to talk to. "Yeah, there's something bothering me," I looked at him, he was just waiting for me to tell him anything, "But I don't think that I could tell you. I don't know how you would react. I, myself don't know how to react on my problem that's why I don't know if I could tell it to anybody."

He smiled as if he could understand, "Having doubts I see," he leaned back at the counter, facing me, "I understand that you have some things in your mind that is bothering you that you couldn't tell me or you couldn't tell anybody. But I'll just give you some advice because we're already worried about you. You're not yourself anymore, we miss it."

He looks like a father that is comforting his daughter or somewhat like that. It's very warming and heart-melting, "That problem of yours will either make you stronger or make you weaker. But either way it's your choice on how you use it. Just whatever it is don't make it break you. Find solutions, find answers. Like Monto, his problem isn't finding the treasure because that's the problem of his father Adolfo Reid. Monto's problem is giving back the lost honour of his late father and that leads to having the problem of his father. He tried to be stronger even though it's hard because the clues were only limited, he didn't quit. He pursued more."

"So, I need to pursue more," I whispered.

He gave me a warm smile, "Just be strong and remember you're not alone."

"I'm back!" Gilas suddenly interrupted with a broom on his hand. I stood up and let him do the sweeping.

"You know what Ali," Willy caught my attention again, "Just go outside and breathe for awhile to clear your mind Gilas and I can already handle here."

"Yeah, you better do that!" Gilas agreed, grinning to me.

"Alright," I smiled, "Thanks."

I went outside of the diner room to and went to the upper deck where the helm is. Kija was there doing his work.

"Good afternoon, Ali," he greeted me.

"Afternoon," I greeted back, "How long will we reach the Aqyebro?"

"Not more or less a day, it's not very far from here based on the map," he replied.

"I see," I stood next to him and look ahead where he was also looking. The wind is not really strong and it is a fair day.

"Do you want to try steering?"

I abruptly looked at Kija and he was smiling at me. I looked at him with sceptically. He's offering me to steer the wheel?! Is he for real?

"I wouldn't mind," he shrugged.

"But your Captain would mind,"

"I couldn't see him here," he pretended to find him at the ship, "Besides he wouldn't know anything if you wouldn't tell him," he winked.

I laughed, "You're disloyalty will kill you."

"I think I can handle it." He moved aside and I replaced him. I placed both of my hands at the helm. "Just keep straight," he instructed.

"This kind of heavy, huh no wonder you got huge body," I complimented. Then after a while my arms got tired and accidentally release the helm causing it to turn non-stop which the ship also followed and moved to different direction. "Oh no!" I tried to stop it but it's too heavy.

Kija's strong arms helped me steadied the helm and put it on the right direction.

"I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have did that," I apologized.

"It's alright, it's just too heavy for you," he comforted me with a smile.

The day passed by easily and when the night falls and after we finished having our dinner I went back to our cabin. Now I called it ours. As I got there Kaden is still sleeping. I went inside carefully not wanting to wake him up. However his senses were strong.

"Sorry to wake you up."

"It's alright, I'm just having a nap," he said.

"How are your wounds?" I asked as I slump my body at the chair.

"I think it's getting better. Harry went here earlier and applied some ointment or something. Tomorrow I think I can now walk around the ship. Staying in this room makes me bored," he answered.

"That's good," I feel so tired of the sudden. I rested my chin in my fist at the armrest of the chair.

"So, er you---," he started to say but I think he could put the right words on it. He sighed, "You wanted to go home back to Talith?"

I looked at him without moving from my position, "Why? You'll let me go home?" I asked nonchalantly.

There's a silence but after that he answered, "No."

"Then no need to ask," I rolled my eyes.

He grunted, "If you're tired you can take a rest already," he took off the blanket out of the other side of the bed.

I didn't argue anymore since I've felt so tired. I went to the bed and let him cover the blanket over my body. I faced the other direction and without any more minute I fell asleep right away.
