This is my first story, I have been on Wattpad for a few years as a reader but I think I am ready to write a story myself. Hopefully people will read it and like it, but if not at least I tried!
So, here is a summary:
Abigail and Nick are best friends and they have been for a while. Abigail has very low confidence and Nick is the star football player. Abigail's parents are always out of town for business, so all she has is Nick. Nick has a good family and people who want to be his friend, but Abigail actually understands him. They could never imagine their lives without each other, but they might have to.
OK, so here it is Chapter 1:
The music coming from the band was loud and almost deafening, but it also seemed to have my blood pumping faster. I could see my best friend getting a drink down on the field. He is the quarter back of our high school football team, and has worked hard and brought our school many victories. My name is Abigail, and everyone calls me that except Nick, my best friend, he has always called me Abby. I never liked the nick name Abby, but when Nick does it doesn’t bother be. Me and nick meet when we were in middle school, seventh grade, he moved in next door to me. I have always been shy, but when I met Nick, something just clicked and I felt comfortable around him.
Now I must admit, Nick is quite handsome, he has brown hair and hazel eyes, and a well-built body from playing football and working out on a regular basis and he is 16. A lot of girls like him; he has a boyish charm about him. Now I on the other hand, am nothing special, I have brown hair and blue eyes, and unlike normal people with blue eyes mine are dull and I am also 16. With all the girls at our school who are pretty, I am pretty average or below average. But of course my best friend would tell me that I am smart and beautiful, I know when he says it he is just trying to boost my confidence, which is sweet of him. I am not very special or good at anything, I get good grades in school, but I don’t play any instruments, and I am horrible at sports, I always get hurt in some way whenever I play anything that has to do with running and/or balls. But Nick is very talented in many different things, he is good at almost every sport, he plays the drums, and he has good grades in school also, you can see he is the full package.
I look up and see that Nick and his team just scored another touchdown; the score is now 35-14 with two minutes left in the fourth quarter. Of course everyone knew our team was going to win, at least everyone on our side of the bleachers did. I don’t know everything about football, but after watching Nick play for the past 2 years I have picked up on something’s. And everyone knew without Nick they probably wouldn’t be this far along in the season. There is one more football game after this one and I know that Nick will win it. I hear or school crowd cheer and it brings me out of my thoughts, I look around for nick, and see him standing between his teammates with his helmet in his hands. I think that it’s amazing how he just played football for how many hours and he still looks so good. I start walking down the bleachers watching my step, because I can be quite clumsy at times.
I get to the bottom and wait for Nick; I don’t want to interrupt his celebration with his other friends, because I already know, that while they are all out tonight partying, that nick won’t be with them. Nick always comes to my house after football games, not because I want him to, even though I do, he just has always done that. We have been in high school for three years, and he joined the football team the second year in high school, and since then our tradition is going to the football game and then going to my house for pizza and popcorn.
And of course my parents don’t mind, I don’t see them enough for them to care about anything I do. They are not bad parents, just busy, and they are always gone on business trips. Nicks family has taken me in like one of their own though, his mom and dad are very sweet and friendly. Nick and me both don’t have any brothers or sisters, so often it is just us two spending time together. I don’t really have any friends other than Nick, I have people that I talk to during class if Nick isn’t in that class with me, but I wouldn’t talk to them outside class.
I see nick coming my way and I meet him half way. I couldn’t help but smile when I saw his eyes shining with excitement; I knew his adrenalin must be pumping through him after playing football. I gave him a hug even though he was all sweaty and stinky. “Congrats on winning another game,” I said as I pulled back from our hug. “Thank you,” he said with a huge smile, “I am going to go get cleaned up, and then we can go”. “Ok, I will wait by the car.” I don’t drive, because I don’t like to, and when my parents offered to buy me a car for my birthday I asked them not to, it would just be a waste of money. Instead they got me a new phone and gave me some money. But nick got me what I really wanted, crash bandicoot 1, 2, and 3 for the ps2, I was so excited, it was my favorite game! I got to the car and waited for Nick to get out here, he usually took about 10 or 15 minutes. He had given me his keys before the game so I could just get in while he got changed to his regular clothes. I got in the passenger seat of his black and yellow Camaro. His car looked like bumblebee off of the transformer movies, because when he first saw the car he loved it. A few minutes later he got in the driver’s seat and buckled up and we left the parking lot heading to my house.
