It’s been almost a month since I walked out of nicks house that day. I know he must hate me; he doesn’t talk to me at school or anything. The girls at school have been pretty mean, they all sneer at me. They know that nick hates me now; some of them have even told me that he does. And Trish is the worst, she walks down the hall with her arm wrapped around his, and every time she sees me looking she smirks. But even worse than that is Nick, he acts as if I am invisible. He totally ignores me. I guess what she said was true; he was done pretending to be my friend. But in all of this, I have been talking to Anthony, and he has been so nice, we don’t have any classes together, and we don’t really see each other at school, but we text every day, and he has really been helping me. I know that if I didn’t have Anthony, I would be super lonely, all I ever had was nick, and he left me too.

It was Friday, and I only had 1 more class before the day ends, I couldn’t wait for this weekend. The bell rang and I walked toward my next class, as I was walking, I passed Nick and Trish. When I looked up Trish was staring at me, and she looked like she was planning something, but it was probably just my imagination. They walked separate ways and I saw nick going toward the front of the school, I wonder where he is going, not that it should matter to me. I got to my next class, and it started soon after, the teacher was talking about something to do with math. The class felt like it drug on forever, and when it finally ended, I jumped up and headed towards my locker. A grabbed all my books and walked toward the side exit, not as many people use these doors, and that’s why I like them, mostly the older student use them. I felt people walking on both sides of me, but I didn’t think anything of it, they must have wanted to get out of here as bad as I did. I got out the doors, and started walking toward the steps; there are 10 steps this way. As I got to the steps I felt myself being pushed forward, I started falling down the stairs and I tumbled to the bottom.

My whole body hurt, my arm and leg hurt really bad, and I felt like I couldn’t breathe, I had my eyes squeezed shut because I was in so much pain. I could hear people but I couldn’t hear what they were saying, it felt like an hour, but it was probably a couple minutes, I heard the sound of an ambulance. I heard someone talking to me, but I could hardly hear what they were saying. I felt myself being lifted onto a stretcher and brought to the ambulance. We got to the hospital, and they brought me to a room, a doctor was soon in there with me and brought me to get an x-ray. I was brought back to my room, and they gave me some pain medication. After a little while, the doctor came in and told me that I fractured my right arm and broke my left leg and also bruised my ribs. They told me that I could leave in a couple hours, so they could get me a cast for my arm and leg. They also told me that I would have to take main medication for a few days; luckily they have a pharmacy in the hospital. After the doctor left my room, I texted my mom to tell her what was going on.

ME: Hey mom, I am at the hospital.

MOM: Why!?  What happened?

ME: I fell down the stairs at school, I fractured my arm and broke my leg, but I am ok.

MOM:  Ok, is your friend Nick with you?

ME: Ummm, no, we aren’t really talking anymore.

MOM: Ok, well I will have someone pick you up and drop you off at home.

ME: Ok, thank you.

MOM: Are you going to be able to get to school?

ME: I wanted to ask you about that… do you think I could just finish out the year at home. I heard that you can do online home schooling and I could just have the people at school transfer it to the online school.

MOM: ok, is there a reason you don’t want to go to your school? I could have someone bring you every day.

ME: No, I’m fine. I just think it would be easier if I could stay home.
