The Hero Can Die

It was a cold winter night
The town seemed alright
But they were freezing
Coughing and wheezing

And so our hero set out to find heat
Or maybe some money or meat
He trudged on and ran into some soldiers
He saw that they had some lighters

She creeped out into their camp
The floor covered in ice and the wind damp
He went into a tent and got what he needed
But then an alarm went of and repeated

He ran out and bumped into some soldiers
He pulled put his daggers
He battled them and would've won
If it weren't for their cheating gun

He got shot in the chest
And fell into a permanent rest
"I guess the hero doesn't always win"
The father said as he scratched his chin

"Goodnight kids," he says and walked out
Leaving his kids wondering about
This hero didn't save the town
The kids thought of him as a clown

"I guess not all heroes win," a kid said and turned out the lights.
