prologue part 3

It was a school day and instead of flunking I decided to go to class,the yard was full of different crowds of people as I walked past up to the double doors I found someone was waiting for me at the entrance.

"Yo Hannabishi, bin a while huh?"He called

That was when I realised who it was,stopping in my path.He was a rival from school and also my worst enemy,his name was Fang powers,a senior to Camrose academy.This was one of the reasons I flunked school,so I would avoid fights and not get expelled.I must have picked the wrong day to attend class,cures my luck.

He stood there with a lolly in his mouth cracking his knuckles and tapping the tips of his feet like he was ready to attack.The students all gasped and dispersed to the inner walls out of the way to make a clear open ground where we both stood,meters away from each other.

 "Fang,I thought  this was your day off,so I did'nt bring Any bandages,sorry"I replied.

"Oh that's a shame.Looks like your fists are gonna be swollen all day after this"he called.

"Aw man,I really can't be arsed with you today...Can you give me a brake?"I moaned rubbing my sleepy eyes.

I could hear the gossip all around me,they were words like 'I knew it,hes a delinquent, there actually going to fight!' among other things.I payed them no mind and focused my attention to the idiot in front of me,I was about ready to run at him when the sound of a whistle stopped me.The place was silent as everyone turned there sights on the young woman in the class window with a whistle in her hand which she just blew.

"Kira Hannabishi and Fang Powers,there are to be no fighting on the school grounds!"She demanded.

The girl was the head of the student council and a fellow classmate to Fang,her name was Maria Tongues and not only was she intelligent and popular she was the only person Fang gave respect to,which made things even more relieving for me.

"He started it by challenging me"I replied.

Fang flushed beat red with embarrassment before he interrupted me "you've got it wrong Mrs Tongues it was all his idea!"He yelled.

She pushed up her glasses as they shimmered in the sunlight "I wont hear Any excuses,your both charged with cleaned duty at dinner time,don't be late!"She snapped before wandering off before we could say a word against it.I was used to this,being sent to detention or to the head mistresses office,it happened all the time.Why?Because I was the brother of a gang leader in this town,pure and simple,it kind of sucked but I learned to deal with it.

We were sent to the school council office in the west wing,the room was spaced out with a few tables and chairs dotted around to be arranged by it's members.I was also used for a drama class with costumes hung on the rack at the end wall.The place smelt like flowers,it was from the scented oils placed on the back desk where Maria was stood by.

"How many times has it been this time boys?"Maria asked,her hands on her hips from her pent up anger.

"Errr...25 I think"I replied calmly

"It was a rhetorical question Hannabishi,how may times you have caused a racket like this?it's too much to count,why must you always do this?!"She snapped.

Fang did'nt seem like speaking,he just sat there gazing at her like a man possessed,I turned away from him and directed back to the impatient Maria tapping her foot. "I don't know,you tell me" I replied.She beamed red with anger,her patience was growing thin,I could tell she was about to snap just by noticing the tapping foot that was rapidly increasing speed.

"Hannabishi,I don't have time for this right now..."she glanced at fang "What do you have to say Fang?"

He cleared his throat before replying,attempting to make his voice softer and more innocent than his usual husky self. "Er,well yeah I did start it but only coz' I was settling a score"he began.
