Saturday Morning

Chapter 16: Cookies

Once again I got into my car, this time not looking to run away. I felt a new sense of energy that I haven't felt in a while, I was ready to find out who was messing with us and what they wanted. I drove back home, in silence not wanting to have a breakdown again. Once I got to my white big White House and the end of the block I got out of the car and tried to act normal. I could probably fool Roland and Lilly and maybe Belle but Henry would be a hard one.

I opened the door to find everyone playing a board game together. As I waked in the smell of freshly backed cookies filled my nose.

"Mommy!" Yelled Lilly running up to me, "Where'd you go?" She said as I lifted her up. She hesitated them spoke "Did you go see daddy?"

I tried to remain calm while I spoke, "I just went out real quick, and yes I did go see daddy."

At this point everyone was listening to our conversation. Lilly gasps and whines "Why didn't you take me? I wanted to see him too"

I looked in her big puppy dog eyes and replied " I just needed some time alone with him. How about tomorrow I promise we'll go see him" Her eyes then lit up and she excitedly says "Okay!" Then runs back to her game.

I thanked Belle for watching the kids and offered to pay her but she resisted. I could tell she wanted to say something but couldn't find a way to get it out. She then left and to relax myself I sat on the floor and played a game with my kids so I could get my mind of things, but it would of been better with Robin here too.

Authors note: Sorry I haven't updated in sooo long! And I know that this is a short chapter but I'm just trying to get new ideas and I've been busier than I expected😬 But hopefully I can be more active now! And thanks so much for 700 views!!🎉 y'all are amazing.
