Chapter 4: Dear New Neighbor

Kamilla's POV

Nothing was special about today.

No, scratch that.

Nothing is special about my life anymore, and I don't think anything will be for as long as Kyle's gone.

Lately, Carly has been an awesome friend. We practically are non-biological twins. She likes books too and finds great interest in her studies.

Basically, the only major difference between us is that she's the 'popular' version of me and much more 'flawless' one, and I'm the typical oh-so-demure girl-next-door.

Still, I freaking miss Kyle a lot. He keeps on lingering in my thoughts.

"Oh Kyle, when are you ever coming back?" I sighed as I continued answering the homework for tomorrow. It was a dead silent afternoon and here I was solving for the value of x and y.

Reality check, Math applies to my life right now. I'm looking for this particular x and I have no idea what it is. Then I'm probing myself 'y' I can't seem to achieve it or solve it.

My life is so bland. It lacks something.

And I have no idea what it is or how I can achieve it.

It's probably something I have no involvement in yet, or I'm clueless about. But you know how the old saying goes, experience is the best teacher, so I'll just have to wait and see.

Earth to Amethyst, I completed the homework and checked my agenda for what was next.

(/) Wake up and face harsh society

(/) Make breakfast for everyone

(/) Take orders from dad (a.k.a buy five bottles of alcoholic beverages)

(/) STUDY!

(/) Make lunch for everyone

(/) Afternoon Nap (zzzzzz!)

(/) Do Homework

( ) Prepare dinner

( ) Talk to Kyle

( ) Put Sapphire to sleep

( ) Journal entry

( ) Slumber (zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZzzzzzzzZZzzz!)

Okay, so I rushed downstairs to prepare a bunch of sandwiches for dad and Sapphire and some spaghetti. Nothing was exceptional about it, actually. As usual, we were all dead silent while eating. No one dared to initiate a conversation. After all, there was nothing to talk about, so why bother.

I tidied up then went back to my room cheerfully. I was so excited. My most awaited part of my agenda.

TALK TO KYLE.

I got my laptop, and logged on Facebook, and as expected, he was online.

I began to type him a message.

"I miss you kryptonite. How's Canada?"

In just a few, he responded,

"See for yourself. I just made a Skype account. Go search for KryptoniteKylezzz"

"That's so freakin' childish. What's with the overrated username?"

"Just go Skype it, okay."

I opened a new tab and just did as instructed. After that, a window began to load and just in a few, I'd finally be able to see him again.
