"I'm not sure about this Latasha.." Emily mumbled, staring at her dress in front of her. I instantly stopped looking through my jewellery drawer and walked over to her side, admiring her beautiful, purple dress.
"What are you worried about? You can't mess anything up. Its virtually impossible. This is the new Emily! The confident Emily, the one who can shake her stuff at parties."
She grinned a little before grabbing the dress, a towel from my bed and some jewellery that I had set out for her, before taking herself to my bathroom to get a shower. As soon as she left the room I dropped the towel that once had been draped around my body and replaced it with my underwear and dress.
Just as I was about to suck my stomach in to zip up the dress, I heard the most bone-chilling scream ever. I quickly draped my pink, zebra print dressing gown around me and ran into the bathroom. Emily was facing away from me, intimidating me greatly.
It felt like something from a horror film... where she turns round and all her face has been ripped off or something. The scenerio inside my brain freaked me out even more. My feet slowly carried me to her and I tapped her on the shoulder. She let out a louder scream. Fear was building up inside of me. "Are you okay?" I gasped.
She turned around quickly, grasping her heart and letting out a relieved sigh. "Thank God its you."
"Why were you screaming?" I walked forwards, giving her a reassuring hug.
I felt her body go stiff and she started crying against my shoulder. "Spider..." she mumbled.
I looked towards the bath and started laughing, "Emily, its plastic."
She glanced at it and sighed. "Well, can you get it out please?" I reached in and took it out with ease, throwing it in the bin and walking back to my room.
I found it rather reassuring to hear water coming from the direction Emily was in, it probably meant she was in the shower. I dropped my dressing gown and zipped up the beautiful blue dress before worrying where our shoes were.
I quickly scurried over to my closet and looked for them. After about two minutes of searching, I found them and sighed. I shuffled mine onto my feet and grabbed Emily's. Standing up, I carried her shoes to the bathroom and left them outside the door. "I'm leaving your shoes in front of the door, don't trip over them!" I yelled.
When I got back to my room, I began blow drying my hair aimlessly. Over the loud sounds that it was making, I heard my door creak open and then proceed to closing. I turned my head to welcome Emily back, when my jaw dropped and the blow drier had slipped out of my hands.
"Oh... my... god!" I screamed, "That dress totally suits you! You have amazing curves, gosh... I envy you!" Emily let out a little shy giggle before finally talking.
"Thanks, but you have no reason to envy me.. just look at you." I smiled, she was the best friend I ever had. I mean, sure, the guys were cool with boy kind of stuff, but it was awesome to have a girl best friend - I could talk to her about anything, she was beautiful, she understood girl stuff and she was fun. "But, Latasha, you need to sort out your hair," she laughed, "it's all weird."
I walked over to the mirror and stared in disbelief at my idiotic hair. I looked like I had just been electricuted, it was sprawled out in all different types of curls sprouting in different directions. That's what you get for carelessly drying your hair.
"My bad." I laughed, before brushing my hair and turning the hair drier off before handing to Emily. She smiled and began to dry her wet, long hair that I loved.
When she had finished, I did our hair and make up.
I'd curled our hair, straightening our bangs and clipping them in place with some hair grips, before using hair spray to keep our hair in perfect shape for as long as possible.
