Song: Mr Brightside - The Killers

{Merida's POV}

I paced my room in my wing of the castle, he's always watching her. Why can't I be as good as her?

No.

I'm better than her.

I'll show father somehow.

"Merida." Came the commanding voice of my mentor and father. I cringed slightly at my given name, though any mention of my real name would only make me weak.

"Father.'' I nodded my head in a bow as he entered my room, without knocking to my slight annoyance, but if you're Herobrine I guess manners don't matter.

''I have a mission for you, Merida.'' He informed me. ''You shall eliminate Team Crafted.''

''Does this mean I go to the overworld?''

He nodded once.

''Of course, Father.''

Perfect.

[Near's POV]

Fading voices and soft ebbing lights were all my senses can give me as I floated in a black pool of nothing, I feel completely detached from my body yet I could see. Hardly, but it was still there. Two pairs of soft white glowing orbs, I try and reach out to them with my unseen hands and catch them but they only dim along with the soft murmurs that accompany them. On my third attempt of trying to capture the intriguing lights, they flare up considerably and the soft murmurs turn into harsh shrieks, one pair of lights brighten and expand as the other dims away, filling my conscious vision with a harsh white light.

suddenly I was falling.

down.

down.

down.

My eyes snapped open of their own accord and I shot out of bed. The adrenaline running through my body didn't calm down until I let it, I liked the feeling, it made me feel powerful.

Walking out of my room I crossed over to a balcony and lean on it, watching the blocky sun slowly rise through the sky as mobs burned in the plains biome near Blockadia.

I wasn't the only one who lived alone, there were some who lived in villages and on a clear day, you can see a little cottage belonging to an old man named Tanner lived. We'd share conversations when I'd give him his weekly essentials supply from the city, since it was a far walk from his house for a man of his age. Which reminds me, I should be expected to get him his supplies today.

I climbed onto the edge of my tall balcony and looked below me, the jungle trees broke my fall when I left my house, I do have an entrance and exit, its just this is more fun.

"Wait...'' I mumbled to myself when I realised I'd forgotten something, I climbed back down and grabbed my hoodie and a small but sharp knife. You're not allowed weapons in the city, everyone who isn't permitted to carry a weapon leaves them in a weapons hold near the entrance of the city. Which is everyone but the guards. Well, everyone but Team Crafted.

I'm not really one to follow the rules, and they never check your boots.

I pulled on my jacket and tugged up the hood before running to the fence, planting my foot on the edge, pushing off the balcony and soaring into the air. I curled into a ball and tucked my chin into my chest before extending my arms, catching myself on some vines and sliding down to the ground.

--

''You know the drill, Near.''

I obliged silently to the dark haired search guard and took off my jacket, giving it to him to search for any weapons or dangerous objects. I shook my white hair out of my face and blinked at the sudden change in light, I didn't really intend to talk in front of people if I didn't have to, I'm not the most sociable of people if you hadn't already guessed.
