Song:8 Fox Stevenson - lightspeed
[Near's POV]
I was watching myself sleep.
I was lying on top of a thin blanket while someone whose face was shrouded in shadows sat next to me. Just before I could move closer to see who was keeping my sleeping form company, I felt my conscious self being tugged away by an unseen current. I thought briefly about fighting it, but decided against it when it tugged again, quite urgently.
I let myself go limp and was immediately taken away, sinking through the floor and through the ground. Picking up the pace until I stopped in the Nether, in front of me standing tall and proud was a large obsidian castle.
The current led me through the doors, towards the left side of the castle before stopping outside an iron door where echoes of swords clashing were ripping through the air, I drift through the doors and hover on the other side, where I saw her.
The white eyed girl.
She was fighting an opponent with the sword that almost added another scar to my collection, a sword I now identified to be made of nether quartz. She was struggling, her opponent showing no mercy as they pressed their weapon down onto hers.
"Fight back, Merida."
The harsh voice came from the girl - Merida's - attacker, I identified it as male. Merida's face contorted into something between pain and frustration, and she forced the weapon off her own before flipping backwards and swiping her legs towards the male. It would have caused him to fall if he hadn't have caught her leg and twisted it brutally, causing her to shriek despite herself and spin before falling painfully to the ground, dropping her quartz sword in the process.
The male turned away from Merida to hang up the sword he was using while she struggled to compose herself, making an effort to stand up on her injured leg. She wiped at her face but quickly brought her hand down when he turned around. He took one look at her and left the room, but not before coldly uttering one word that seemed to have a great affect on the white eyed girl.
"Pathetic."
For the second time that day, I launched out of bed and onto my feet breathing heavily. I wasn't aware of a voice trying to calm me down because of one name running through my head as my eyes darted around my surroundings.
Herobine.
My mind was running wild as I recalled my vivid dream. I remembered the person behind me and whirled around, coming face to face with the girl with teal hair and icy blue eyes. Her calculating, now fading black eyes flicked from my defensive stance back up to my blind eye.
"Finn." She said cautiously, a thick Canadian accent shining through. "I'm Finn."
I opened my mouth to speak, but quickly shut it. My thoughts were still with Merida, the name sounded so familiar. I snapped back to reality again when Finn frowned at me, probably because I was staring at her.
"Near." I answered quickly, surprising Finn and myself. "You're a sorcerer?"
"Uh, yeah. Was it the eyes?" She smiled weakly, only half joking.
"That and the fact you blasted a spider into a wall with enough force to smash a skull." I replied with an approving nod. "Were you healing me?"
"You could say that, making sure you wouldn't go into shock again would be a better way of saying it."
"Shock?" I asked quietly.
"You don't remember? That girl disappeared after Twilia attacked her. You started shaking and passed out." She explained.
