Chapter 2 - nighttime secrets

xX After the feast, around midnight Xx

Cassie's pov

I laid on my bed looking at the ceiling. I know my mother will probably disown me. But father will be proud. He knows that I hate mum. That's also why he has another wife who loves me to death despite the fact that she has what muggles call cancer. She's fought it twice already but she's strong. I know she will fight it. I sighed and sat up slowly and looked around my dorm room. Next to my bed on the left was Remus who kept tossing and turning. On my right was James who was dead asleep. I sighed and got out of bed and walked to the window opening it. I stepped out onto a small patio that was there. I leaned on the railing and looked off. I heard someone make their way out of the window and stand next to me but I didn't make any movement to look at them. "Couldn't sleep?" Remus asked looking up at the moon. I nodded and looked at Remus. He was fairly handsome even for a first year. I smiled and looked at the moon as well. I walked back over to the window and reached inside and I grabbed my guitar. I brought it towards Remus and then sat on the ground and started to strum.

" Well, I heard there was a secret chord that David played and it pleased the Lord. But you don't really care for music, do you?" I sang softly.

"Well it goes like this: The fourth, the fifth, the minor fall and the major lift. The baffled king composing Hallelujah. Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah..." I continued.

" Well your faith was strong but you needed proof. You saw her bathing on the roof, her beauty and the moonlight overthrew ya. She tied you to her kitchen chair. She broke your throne and she cut your hair and from your lips she drew the Hallelujah." Remus sang sitting down next to me. " Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah..." we sang together. " Baby, I've been here before. I've seen this room and I've walked this floor. You know, I used to live alone before I knew ya. And I've seen your flag on the marble arch and love is not a victory march. It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah. Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah..." Remus sang softly as I strumed the tune of the song. "There was a time when you let me know, what's really going on below. But now you never show that to me, do ya? But remember when I moved in you and the holy dove was moving too, and every breath we drew was Hallelujah. Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah..." I sang while looking towards Remus. "Maybe there's a God above, but all I've ever learned from love was how to shoot somebody who outdrew ya. And it's not a cry that you hear at night. It's not somebody who's seen the light. It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah." We sang together while softly smiling at each other. "Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah...Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah... Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah... Hallelujah, hallelujah" we finished while looking at each other. We both smiled then looked back up at the moon. I slowly rested my head on his shoulder and he rested his head on mine. After an hour we fell asleep like that, smiling. When we woke we clambered back through the window and started to get ready. Once I was dressed I saw that our dorm mate Peter was up but not Sirius and James. I smirked and then walked next to James' bed. I bent down and said "Lily is here." He shot up and immediately started to try to fix his hair. I laugh then went to wake up Sirius. "I hate you." James said walking by me to enter the bathroom that Remus just exit. "Three more days, Rem." I said to Remus, talking about the next full moon. He nodded and then helped me wake up Sirius. I whispered a plan to Remus and although he looked sketchy about it, he agree. Remus sat on Sirius stomach while I said "Siri, wake up. I got a surprise for you." As Sirius stirred, Remus leaned down closer towards Sirius. James walked in and looked at Remus questionably. I waved him over and told him our prank. He snickered and went to get his things ready. Sirius then put his hands on Remus' hips and said "Cass, not right now. I know you love me but stop waking me up this way." Sirius then leaned up and kissed Remus' cheek. When Sirius opened his eyes and instantly freaked out and removed his hands from off of Remus' hips. Remus, although bright red from the kiss on the cheek, started laughing hard and was gasping for air. I was doing the same while Sirius ran to the bathroom to 'wash his mouth out with soap'. After our fun we all went down stairs and ate breakfast. As we sat down, Sirius kept looking down at his plate still red from the embarrassment. We kept laughing said something I thought he'd never say. "Stop right now or I'll tell Remus about your deepest darkest secret." Sirius said to me. I looked at him in horror. My secret was that I tend to change into a boy when I'm bored and use it as a prank. If he told Remus that I'd never be able to use the prank. I looked at him then smirked. "Well your the one who kissed him so, ha ha ha!" I said. "Fine, Cassie changes into a boy sometimes then goes up to guys and kisses them then runs away. She was planning on doing that prank on you, Remus." Sirius said to Remus while Remus looked at me surprised. "Wait what? Could I see the guy form?" Remus asked which shocked me and Sirius. I nodded and turned into the male version of myself. My blonde hair became shorter and in a more fluffy fohawk style. My chest became flatter and muscular. I began slightly shorter seeing that in my normal state I'm the same height as Remus (who is pretty tall for an eleven year old). Remus and James looked at me in shock. "Oooh who's that! He's cute" the red head, who I know as Lily, asked Remus pointing at me. "I'm Xavier," I said with the deep voice supplied and got up and walked over to her. "And you, princess, are?" I said once again as I leaned down and kissed her hand. She sighed and said, "Lily." I chuckled and brushed some of her hair behind her ear. "A fitting name for such a beautiful flower." I said in a low octave while making a tiger lily appear in between my finger tips, handing it to her. She giggled and took the flower and rushed off to her friends. I looked at James and said, "And that's how you get the girl!" I sat down and continued eating while Adromea came over. "Really 'Xavier'?" She said in a joking tone. "Why not? The birds love me!" I said joking around while both Adromea and Sirius laughed at my intended pun. Remus looked at me. "Could you turn me into a girl? I'm curious how I'd look." Remus said to me shocking the group. I nodded and snapped my fingers causing him to change. His hair grew longer and became an almost dirty blonde but with more brown. His chest became more feminine as did his figure. His hands and facial features became more dainty and female like. When he opened his eye, I whistled. "Not bad!" I said looking at the female Remus. "Why hello! I'm... Raine." He said with a very feminine voice. I chuckled and conjured up a rainbow colored rose that never wilts, and placed it in his hair. James made a face then said, "She's missing something." I laughed then made his long hair have a braid going along the back of his head. James nodded and laughed. "Wanna mess with people?" I asked Remus in the deep tone I had currently. "I would love to Xavier!" He answered with the feminine voice he had. We both laughed. I stood up and gave 'Raine' a hand to stand up. He took my hand and we walked over to the Slyitherins table. I sat down next to the Lestrange twins. The looked at me confused. "Hello, I'm Xavier. And This is my wonderful girlfriend Raine." I said pulling Remus onto my lap like a couple would do. Remus blushed and buried his face into my neck. "Sweetheart I thought we weren't going to tell people." Remus said like an upset girlfriend. "Well I want other men to know your mine honeysuckle! Your extremely ravishing and I don't want anyone else having you." I said putting my arms around his waist while the other guys chuckle. "That's true!" Roudplus and Lucius said putting their arms around their blushing girlfriends aka Bellatrix and Narcissa. I smiled and looked down at Remus, who looked up at me. "Well sweetie, we have to get to class before we are late!" Remus said with fake worry. I nodded bland waved goodbye to the group of slyitherins. We walked out of the great hall then busted out laughing. "Oh that was amazing guys!" James and Sirius say at the same time. We nodded and changed back. We all laughed and made our ways to our class.
