"We need to get Emma's mind off of the stupid video." Ava spoke into her phone and applied a thin coat of lipstick onto her lips as she waited for a response. Both Brooke and her had been exchanging ways to brighten up the Duvall girls mood even since the outage of her first time. Though she had shut both girls down, and hadn't spoke to anyone since last night. The two had been worried and visited Emma's house, only to be answered by Maggie who declined entrance. The older Duvall only claimed that Emma was in no need of any support other than alone time; to process the entire situation before speaking with anyone. Ava sighed and placed her lipstick down, thinking of another idea. "I mean I have a video of me looking pretty fierce that I could leak."

"You're not going to leak a video." Brooke scoffed, making Ava roll her eyes. She could practically see the Maddox girl shaking her head at her. "We're just going to have to make sure nobody talks about what happened."

"Brooke, do you know anything about our school?" She let out a laugh and pulled out her concealer, dabbing it under her eyes. "Seriously, remember what happened to Audrey? She went viral for weeks."

"But Emma isn't Audrey." Brooke argued.

"They were both on the same level at one point."

"Weren't you chill in middle school, or something?"

"That was Em."

"Right."

She started to put her things away, waiting for Brooke to end the conversation. It took awhile, but they ended after a few minutes of discussing their outfits for the day. "I have to go. I'll see you at school yeah? Unless you want a ride."

"Uh no my friend Joseph's gonna pick me up."

"Are you actually going to get a ride from that weird kid who sits in the back of our English class?" Brooke pushed, while Ava stepped out of her room and made it towards the kitchen. She waved at her mom who stood near the breakfast bar, drinking tea with a small novel in her hands. "You know Jake tells me he's always staring at you. He seems kinda creepy."

"Joseph's not a creep." She shook her head, plucking two bagels from her moms plate and moved towards the front door. "Plus it's not staring. It's gazing. There's a difference."

"Whatever. I have to go, my dad's freaked that I'm still here." Brooke mumbled as the sound of a car horn echoed outside of her house. "Though I think your ride is more freaked. I'll see you later."

"See you." She ended the call after stepping out the door. She smiled and called out a farewell to her mom, waving at the boy who sat in a blue SUV.

"Hey there pretty brown eyes." Ava grinned and slid into the passenger seat. She handed him an apple before putting on her seat belt. He grinned and took the apple after waving at the short woman standing near the door. When realizing who the woman was, he pushed her shoulder playfully, pointing at her mom who continued to wave at the duo. Ava rolls her eyes but smiled and gave her mom an over exaggerated wave.

"Hate to burst your bubble Ava, but I don't have brown eyes." He spoke after a few minutes.

"I know, I just have that song stuck in my head." He turned to her with an amused smile playing on his lips. She crossed her arms over her chest and moved her gaze over to the dashboard, her eyes trailing along the bobbleheads decorating it. "It's a good song, and so what if you don't have pretty brown eyes? You have pretty blue eyes that I could just swim in."
