The music wasn't her taste in tunes, and the crowd just wasn't the one she'd typically hang out with. Yet Ava stood still near the dance floor, swaying to the horrid beat as students milled around, cups in their hands dancing to Brooke's playlist or swimming in the std filled pool. The main event that had been Nina Patterson flew out of the minds of the students she tormented, it was as if she was Lakewood's own Alison DiLaurentis. Ava grinned, a thick fire slipping through her neck as she finished the second drink that had been poured for her. Her dress was too low, and her tolerance was too high, yet she was at the party, drinking away the thought's of Nina's passing.
Ava sighed and moved towards the couch where her friends had been lounging. Her mind was already buzzed with light, adding onto the list of regrets that would add up in the morning. Her eyes were dark as she sat between Emma and Will, the guilt returning as she heard conversation about their former red-headed friend pause as she leaped onto the yellow cushioned couch.
"I can't believe you're dad let you have a party as soon as everyone found out about Nina." She shouted over the obnoxious pop song. The blonde sitting across from her smiled, her eyes bright with joy as she continuously glanced around the lively room.
"Of course he didn't let me. He's not in town."
"So, where's your dad?" Emma spoke up, her body leaning against the tipsy brunette beside her.
"Quinn has a lady friend in town, I have a party, he gets laid." Brooke replied bluntly. "It's the circle of life."
"Parental sex. TMI." Will muttered, bouncing his leg up and down at the speed of light. Ava hadn't even noticed his move from the couch to the table where he jittered.
"Calm down." Brooke frowned, watching the shaking boy. "You're like a purse dog, what is wrong with you"
"I'm sorry, coach is riding my ass." He confessed, calming down slightly. Though his nervous tension still varied. The three girls raised their brows, worry seeping into the expressions they had pulled. "We're supposed to have a scout from Duke at tomorrow's game."
"The scout will be blown away tomorrow. So tonight, relax." Emma grinned, pulling Will onto the couch once more. Being forced out of her comfortable spot Ava stood, rolling her eyes at the couple as they started to intently kiss one another.
"I'd say get a room, but I don't want the cleanup." Brooke teased, her focus being drawn away from the bubbly duo to the door. She tilted her head and watched a few more students stumbled into the room before the blonde stood up, leaving Ava alone with the couple.
"Seriously? Leaving me on third wheeling duty?" She sighed, pulling out her phone to distract herself from the couple making out beside her.
After a few moments of scrolling through various social media sites, Ava stood up and walked over to Brooke. She raised a brow when she spotted her cornering Audrey and Noah near the door way
"That's funny." Brooke snickered awkwardly.
"What's funny?" Ava said, her eyes finding Audrey's before she quickly turned towards Brooke. The blonde shrugged and wrapped an arm around her waist, staring at Noah for a moment.
"I said, I have a little place just like this in the Hamptons." He spoke, glancing around the large house.
"Right, you've told me before." Ava nodded, allowing the side conversation to die out.
