"You can't keep dragging me into your weird blackmail business Jake." Ava sighed, leaning her head on the warm window's of Jake's truck. He only smirked and continued to drive, holding tightly onto the steering wheel. Her brows furrowed as he abruptly stopped the car and jumped out, slamming the door loudly. She let out a noise of distaste before following the angsty teenage boy deeper into the woods.
"You know, two teens alone in the woods, one holding a shovel is never a good sign. I mean have you ever watched the news? Should I even trust you out in the open?"
"Ava, shut up." He groaned, passing her a smaller shovel. She watched as he threw his own shovel onto the dirt, bending over to pick up the large rock sitting on top of a pile of mud and twigs. He managed to push the rock away from the heap before shoving his shovel into the dried leaves, digging into the ground.
"My mother wants to meet you, she's worried that I'm getting too emotionally attached to you, and am forgetting about my girls, Brooke and Riley."
"Shut up and please help me dig." She only did the opposite, and sat down on a nearby bolder, gazing as he continued to dig through the muck.
"You know," she started already seeing him roll his eyes at her. "You should wear that sweater more often, it makes you look much more handsome than you really are."
"Now's not the time for mindless flirting A," he sighed, pulling out a small metal container covered in dirt. Her nose crinkled in slight disgust as she spotted a few bugs falling from the box.
"What is that?" She questioned, watching his eyes light up while he dusted the dirty box. She tilted her head, glancing at the empty box that he had opened, she realized that, that had been the money box, the one that Will, Jake and Tyler held all the blackmail dollars in. "Oh."
"Son of a bitch!" He yelled, throwing the box further into the woods. Her eyes widened as he lifted her up off the rock and dragged her off into the car, muttering a string of curse words under his breath.
"Aggressive." She mumbled as she was put down into the black van, the door slamming loudly before Jake entered once more. "Hostility is not a good look on you."
"I'm going to kill him." He seethed before starting the car. She rolled her eyes before shooting Will a quick text, making sure he was prepare for 'the wrath of Jake.'
"Not wise word's to say when theres a supposed killer running around."
"Shut up."
They sat in an uncomfortable silence while the car speed towards the old farm that the Belmont family owned. Ava watched the thick large trees speed past, her mind focusing on the younger children jumping around and swinging on the branches. There was a flash, suddenly a tall man or woman dressed in a dark trench coat, wearing a large ghost mask stood near them, their head tilting challengingly. A scream built up in her throat, threatening to spill before a glossy red car passed them, causing the children and the predator to vanish. It was almost movie-like, the villain disappearing before anyone could even utter a word.
"You okay?" Jake questioned, looking back at the paled girl, her eyes wide as she sat still. She only nodded, not trusting her voice knowing if she somehow managed to speak one word, she'd be a stuttering mess. "Then let's go."
The two skillfully leaped out of the truck, spotting Will riding a death trap. He only glanced at the duo once, continuing to back up the chain filled machinery. She only raised a hand, staying near the freshly painted white fence as Jake stomped into the dry planting fields.
