Runaway Trapped

Chapter 3

Beau's POV

I lead her to the kitchen and her stomach growls louder. Chuckling I get out the ingredients for French toast and start to cook it. Her eyes widen and I raise an eyebrow questionably."Oh it's just French toast is my favorite." She laughs. I nod and concentrate on my cooking. Once I'm done I serve her a plate. She smiles and thanks me. I look for syrup and see that we are out. I know I can trust her here so I kiss her forehead."I'll be right back babe I'm going to get us some syrup." She nods and I stroll off with a stupid smile stuck on my face.

Violet's POV

I watch his car pull out of the driveway and bolt up the stairs. Haha! I tricked him. The mark was nothing considering I knew I could find someone to remove it in a way.Grabbing my bag I make sure I have everything then descend the stairs as fast as I can. I ran through the forest at the back of the house sniffing out a way to a road.The forest was darker and twigs poked at my feet even with my flats on. I smelt the exhaust fumes and could hear the engines of cars not to far away. My wolf was screaming at me,"He is our mate!!Why are you running away from him?!?! I only ignored her and kept running. Then I saw the light and the road in all it's glory in front of me. I didn't love that man. I barely knew him!! Sticking out my thumb I had really no choice, but to hitch hike. A black sleek car pulled to the side next to me and the tinted window rolled down to reveal a very handsome young man. Probably around my age 16 maybe seventeen.He had beach blonde hair and nice grey eyes. He also looked very fit. I hopped in the car and thanked him. "What state are we in?" I asked
"Well right now we are in Carson city, Arizona." I started thinking in my head. Oh wow my mate lives in this city where the hotel I stayed in is. How hilarious that is.I nod and we settle in an akward silence. I cleared my throat,"Just drop me off at the nearest hotel please." He nodded and smiled,"My name is Colin by the way." I smiled back."Violet, it's nice to meet you Colin. Thank you for the ride." We rounded up a road and I saw a sign for the 'Sunny Hill Hotel'. He pulled to a stop in front of the doors. Again I thanked him and he have me a quick nod before driving off. Walking in I went straight to the front desk. There stood a nice looking older lady. She smiled warmly at me reminding me of my grandmother and it squeezed my heart.
"Hello there darling what can I do for you?" She asked
I smile." Could you please give me directions to the nearest bus station please."
She nodded and pulled out a map under her desk highlighting the pathway for me. I had a weird urge to give her a hug, but pushed that stupid thought aside shaking my head roughly. She knew something was up maybe it was the hidden sadness in my eyes or how exhausted I looked. She handed me the map and gave me a sad smile as I exited the hotel. I walked on the side walk taking the highlighted path on the map. I came across a large convenient store and decided to make a quick stop.Walking in I grabbed a bag of chips, a Milky Way, and a bottle of soda for easy carrying.I headed towards the cashier who happened to be a guy. His badge read Mike and I really didn't care. He rung up my things very lazily and bagged them sloppily. He checked me out as I grabbed my bags and I just rolled my eyes. Going into the small bathroom on the side of the building I put my hair in a tight bun pulling my favorite gray beanie over my hair. Then I stuffed the food and soda in my bag. Putting on my favorite black California style glasses I headed out in my new disguise. I walked like a lazy guy down the side walk. Just in case so that he couldn't recognize me if he knew my body language. The bus station came into my view and I couldn't help, but run to it. I took in the building appearance. Very nice looking with pale blue walls and bus dates listed on only one wall. Waiting chairs occupied a lot of the space. Then on the other side was a man behind a window type booth. I asked for a one way ticket to Sacramento. The man looking bored out of his mind nodded printing off a ticket for me. I took ten dollars out of my wad of cash in my bra and hand it to him. He handed the ticket to me,"Better hurry the bus takes off any second now." He says in a very monotone voice. I snatch the ticket and sprint to the bus he pointed to. Finding a seat in the back I finally relax and lean my head against the window."Finally free" I mumble to myself as I pull my iPod out blasting music in one of my ears. I find an outlet on the bus to charge my iPod and now I am ready for the long journey to Sacramento.
