It had been a month since the Battle of the Veil and Ron Weasley's death. A month of sorrow, a month of grieving and a month of pain. The Weasley family were informed of Ron's death shortly after Voldemort disapparated from the Ministry. Dumbledore had told them. Fred and George broke down, George sobbing and Fred, for the first time in his life, left utterly speechless. Molly wailed into Arthur's arms and Arthur just sobbed quietly, trying not to disturb his grieving wife. Ginny cried whenever Ron was brought up in a conversation but otherwise seemed fine, just a little broken. Percy took nearly no notice to his brothers death and Fred and George quickly reacted, stating that Percy was no longer a part of the family and that he should not show up to Ron's funeral. Charlie did not have time to come to mourn, but he promised on a letter sent by owl that he would be home in time for the funeral. Ron's eldest brother, Bill took it really hard, saying that he should have been with the Order instead of working at Gringotts Bank. But no one was taking it worse than Harry was.
Harry had been invited to spend the Summer with both the Weasley family and the Granger family and Harry chose the Granger family for one reason, he thought that he could have saved Ron. THe Weasley family were taking a month to set up the funeral for Ron, making sure that all of Ron's relatives and friends would be able to make it, so that they can give one last farewell to the Weasley that had brought them so much joy and happiness.
Harry was to speak at Ron's funeral but he tried not to think about that...
The Grangers brought Harry to their house when he got off of the Hogwarts Express, along with their daughter and Harry's best friend, Hermione Granger. When they arrived at the Granger household, Hermione gave harry a quick tour before showing him to his room and giving him a house key. Harry only ever left the room to eat and only Hermione ever seemed to go in.
Harry was sitting on his bed, staring at a piece of paper that he was writing his speech on when Hermione walked in, a slight smile upon her beautiful face. "Hi" she said quietly to Harry as she moved to sit on the bed next to him. "Hey" Harry responded and then he looked down at the piece of paper that was completely blank except for the words 'What can I say to sum up Ron's life in a few short sentences? Well, he was my best friend' Hermione read the words over Harry's shoulder and then looked at him "Having trouble thinking about what you're going to say?" Harry looked to her "Of course I am, I can't fit all of what I thought of Ron in a few sentences. It would take hours at least" Harry replied quickly to her. Hermione smiled at him and put her hand on his shoulder comfortingly "Do what Ron would to. Say everything that needs to be said in the quickest way possible and end it in a very cheesy but lovable way" Hermione said to him, thinking about her lost friend.
Harry smiled back to her "Thank you, Hermione" Harry said to her "You always know what to say" Hermione blushed slightly, not knowig why "My pleasure, Harry." She took her hand off of his shoulder and slapped her hands onto her lap "Well, sixth year is approaching. My parents are taking us to Diagon Alley two days before Ron's funeral so that we can buy what we need and get a head start before school begins. Our results should be here by then." Hermione got up off of the bed and walked to the door. She stopped just before she walked out of the room and look back at Harry, who was still sitting in the exact same spot on the bed. "You should get out of this room more, Harry." Hermione said before walking out and closing the door behind her.
And once more a smile made it's way onto Harry Potter's face.
