Harry awoke the next morning, on his side, his eyes fluttered open and he turned onto his other side to face the walnut bedside table. He carefully reached over, picking up the glasses, before putting them on. The light from the nearby window was illuminating the room, reflecting off of his round glasses. Harry remembered that he had been too caught up with writing the speech the day before, that he had not even remembered to shut the plain, cream colored, velvet curtains.
Harry looked around the pale blue room, noticing the two pictures of Hermione on either side of the room. One picture showed her about eleven. Harry assumed that her parents had taken it on the day before she left for Hogwarts for the very first time. The other showed Hermione and her parents sitting on a couch that Harry recognized to be the couch that was in the living room in the Granger home.
Harry stood up slowly and stretched before bending over to pick up his shirt and trousers. He quickly put on his grey shirt and jeans and walked downstairs, hoping that he would not be late for breakfast. He walked out of the door of the bedroom and quickly strolled down the stairs of the house and entered the Granger's kitchen through the white door in the hallway.
The kitchen had a plain chestnut table in the center with a white fridge and freezer next to each other behind the table with a black oven and stove beside them. Cupboards above them.
All of the Grangers were already sitting at the table eating their breakfast (sausages, bacon, beans and toast).
"Sorry I'm late," Harry said as he pulled out a chair and sat down in it "I slept in"
Hermione smiled at Harry and then directed her gaze towards the window before Harry saw her smiling. That's when she saw two dots on the horizon. Hermione dropped her fork and stood up quickly, putting her hand to her mouth while making a small gasp.
"Owls...." Hermione whispered "Our O.W.L. results!" She said, almost a scream. Harry was standing up now, looking at the two dots as they approached the Granger home. They landed on the window sill a few seconds later and Harry ran open and opened the window to let the owls in while Hermione paced around the room repeating "I failed them all. I failed them all." over and over again as her mother comforted her.
The owls hopped in and Harry untied the letter addressed to him while saying "Come off it! All of your results will be 'Outstanding's' and they're all in there" Harry said, pointing to Hermione's owl.
"No, I know I messed up at least half of my Ancient Runes translations" Hermione said, untying her letter. Harry opened his letter and looked at down at the letter in his hands.

Harry smiled. He had been expecting worse. He had always known that he would fail Divination and History of Magic. Partly because he had passed out during his History of Magic examination. But he now knew that his ambition to become an Auror had ended, because to continue in Potions, he needed an Outstanding, but instead his grade was marked as a small black 'E' He looked over at Hermione. "Failed Divination and History of Magic and got an 'E' in Potions. What about you?"
Hermione smiled "All Outstandings except for an 'E' in Defense." Hermione said "Oh, and sorry about your Potions grade. I know how much you wanted to become an Auror" Harry smiled back to her and Mrs Granger said "Your book lists are here. You two should head to Diagon Alley tomorrow, I'll send a letter... uhm.... an owl to Mrs Weasley so that she can arrange security"
