Dishes done, trash taken out, everything off the floor, ok good. Everything was clean and in place. Leah walked over to the couch and let herself flop down. That had taken longer than she had expected. Her apartment had been trashed, Mia had made sure of that before she headed back home. Sometimes, little sisters could be extremely annoying. Mia had brought her some fresh vegetables from home though, so that was nice.
Over the past few days, she hadn't been able to work much on the decryption project. Mia had called her out anytime she tried, whining about how work was more important that her baby sister. Mia always pulled the baby sister card. Of course, it's what any good baby sister would do. She rolled her eyes.
She still hadn't made much progress on breaking the encryption in the past few weeks, but she had relaxed her approach. It was obvious that it was going to stay on the server for a little while longer, so she didn't feel the need to try and beat the clock. That, and she had also made a copy of every single file. Now she could work on it anytime she wanted. Sometimes, she was too clever for her own good. She laughed at herself.
Reaching backwards, she grazed the remote a few times with her fingers before she finally got ahold of it. She switched the TV on and began flipping through the channels. News, news, Flash sighting, game show, some stupid reality show, more news. She went though a few more channels before she finally found something decent on. Sharknado would do for now. She'd never seen it before, but she figured it was the best thing on currently, so why not. She pushed herself back off the couch and headed for the kitchen, making sure to turn on the Roomba as she passed it. That floor was nasty.
Grabbing a few vegetables and some chicken from the fridge, she made quick work of cutting them up before she dumped them in a frying pan. Zucchini went in dak galbi, right? Who cared. This was her dak galbi, and she'd make it how she wanted. Jamie's mom would be so proud.
She was letting the dak galbi simmer for a bit when she heard a knock at her door. Covering the food, she got up and strolled over to the entryway. Nova noticed this and came running. Leah looked through the peephole. Cisco stood outside, glancing around at his surrounding. Crap! Was that today? It had totally slipped her mind. Sighing, she began undoing the latch on the door. Nova pawed at the door as it began to open.
"Hold on Cisco." She quickly picked up Nova and moved her to the couch before she returned to the door.
Over the last few weeks, Cisco had been texting her a lot. Sometimes about comics, other times about movies. He had almost lost his mind when he found out she'd never seen all the Star Wars movies. Somehow after that, he had convinced her into having a movie night. She wasn't entirely sure how he did it, but he had gotten her to say yes. So here he was, at her door, DVD in hand. Oh, this was going to be fun..... She rolled her eyes as she pulled the door open.
"Hey!" Cisco looked up and smiled at her.
"Hey, come in." She walked back to the kitchen and started stirring the dak galbi.
He quietly closed the door and came up behind her. "What are you making? It smells...."
"Interesting?"
"Let's go with that."
She stifled a laugh. "It's fine. I'm used to it. It's called dak galbi."
"Dak gal- what?"
"Basically, it's a spicy chicken stir fry."
"Oh. Where is it... you know... from?"
"Korea."
"Korean food? Seriously?"
"Yea, I have some kimchi in the fridge if you want some. It's homemade." She glanced at him from over her shoulder.
