"So anyway, he took me to this ice cream place by the lake and bought me a cone, then we walked around the lakeside path and then he asked me out!" Lily gushed, smiling. Luka had been friends with her for many years, and, now, in 11th grade, she had gotten... What? Her 7th boyfriend in the last 2 years? Something like that.

"Either way, what I'm trying to say is that he's taking me home tonight." Lily said sheepishly. "We're stopping at the video store, and then going home for dinner." She gave Luka a big smile, blonde hair shimmering in the summer heat. They stood by the entrance of their school, which had just released the students for the weekend.

"It's okay." Luka replied, giving Lily a tiny wave with her fingers. "I'll go home and maybe call Mew or something." Lily grinned.

"I knew you'd understand, Lulu!!" She gushed, skipping off to join her new boyfriend. Lily had called Luka Lulu since they were small, and she had seemed to forget that it wasn't her real name.

Luka took a last glance at the couple and began down the sidewalk, pulling her phone out of her backpack and looking through her Amino feed. She hummed quietly to herself, mindlessly twirling her long pink hair with her free hand. She was immediately surprised to have her browsing interrupted by a call.

She answered it, even though it was a number not registered into her contacts. "Hello, this is Luka Megurine speaking." She said politely, eyes wandering around the busy city in front of her. She heard a high giggle and let out a sigh.

"Luka! It's me! Miku!" Came the voice on the other end. Miku? Miku was an old friend from the summer a couple years ago. She had taken a course abroad as an American transfer student, and Luka hadn't seen her in years. "I just got home a couple days ago, and I missed you so so so much." She explained.

"Miku, how'd you get my number? I just got this phone like 6 months ago!" Luka asked excitedly, crossing the busy street.

"I asked Rin, the girl we used to hang out with. Did you know she's dating the cute green haired girl we always used to see at that fast food place?" Miku asked. "Either way, you should totally come over!" Luka smiled.

"Awesome. Okay!" Luka agreed. "Same place?" She inquired.

"Yep! Hey, can I ask you to bring me something?" Miku responded, making Luka curious.

"Yeah." Luka answered. "What?"

"Pocky." Miku replied simply. "I don't care which kind. Meet you at the tree in a half an hour!" And then she hung up. Luka was so confused she considered calling the girl back, but that seemed sort of annoying. She turned off her phone and kept humming to herself, taking an early right. She had a box of pocky to buy.

"Thank you for buying at FamilyMart, come again soon!" cheered the clerk, handing Luka the box of chocolate pocky she had paid for. The girl looked familiar, with her short green hair.

"Are you Gumi?" Asked Luka and immediately regretted asking, because it seemed so out of nowhere. To her surprise, the woman smiled.

"Actually, no, but she's my younger sister!" She explained. "I'm Sonika. Is your name Luka?" She asked mischievously. When the pink-haired girl nodded, she took a pen out of her shirt pocket and clicked the button on top. "Give me your arm." She demanded kindly.

Luka obeyed and the green-haired girl scrawled a phone number onto Luka's wrist. "Call me sometime." Sonika smiled and clicked the pen closed when she was done. "See ya!"

Luka waved and walked out of the convenience store, checking her phone for unread texts. Seeing she had none, she turned it off again. She took a left when she reached the side walk, craving water because of the heat. Luka remembered almost everything in the area and it threw her into nostalgia, and her feet went by themselves.

When she reached the familiar tree, she noticed a teal flash behind the leaves and branches. "Miku," Luka knew it was her. Miku loved climbing and, when she was still living the city, would often hide there and wait for someone to come, no matter who it was, and scare them out of their skin. Often it was someone she didn't know, and she'd have to apologize profusely.

"Aw, Luka! You spoil everything!" Miku complained and jumped down from the branch, long teal hair flowing behind her in the slight breeze. She had wide blue eyes and her hair, which Luka remembered usually being tied in high pigtails, was now down in low twintails that went down to her waist.

"I brought pocky for you," Luka raised the hand that held the pocky box. Miku's face contorted into a shy smile. She sank down to sit leaning against the trunk.

"Come here." Miku replied. Luka obeyed and sat down on her left. Miku to the box and tore it open. She gave Luka one and did the same for herself. "I don't like America." She said, completely out of the blue.

"Why not?" Luka asked, glancing at Miku's face. She put the stick of pocky in her mouth.

"I missed you." Miku said simply, biting the tip off of hers. "And IA, and Gumi, and Rin, and Meiko, but mostly you." Luka smiled.

"I missed you a lot too, Miku." Luka took another bite of her stick. Miku looked up at Luka's face and the pink haired girl held it awhile. Miku turned away and lifted her head to gaze the sky.

"It's so prettier here." She observed. Luka repeated her actions and pointed at a small fluffy cloud.

"That looks like a kitten." She smiled. Miku took another stick of pocky and put it in her mouth so it was sticking out. Luka put her hands on Miku cheeks and took the other end of the pocky into her mouth. Miku's face turned a light shade of pink and smiled. She took a bite from her end and Luka mirrored her.

Miku took another and so did Luka, until the stick was nothing but a small nub. Miku leaned into Luka and stole the small piece right out of her teeth. Then she crashed her lips into Luka's and they stayed there for a while. She pinkette put her hand on the back of Miku's head, enjoying the feel of her glossy hair.

The tealette broke the kiss and gave Luka a mischievous grin. Luka put an arm around Miku's shoulders and pulled her into the pink-haired girl's chest.

"Tell me about America."
