Chapter 7 First Investigation

Luke and I walked back where Athena was and continued walking. Then we got lost.
"Should we ask anyone for directions?"
Athena asked.
I thought Luke knew where he's going.
"Oi! Don't lay all the blame on me! London is really confusing." Luke cried out in his defense.
Then a dog walked in front of us.
"Here let's ask him for directions." Luke asked.
What!
"Huh?" Athena and I were taken aback.
(He's not serious is he?)
"Oh I thought Mr. Wright told you guys." Luke said out in surprise. He made us circle up. " I can talk to animals." He whispered.
Athena and I were trying to keep a straight face.
" I'm not joking. Here I'll prove it too you!" Luke said out in embarrassment.
"Mr. Dog?" The dog turned around.
"Where's the Township Inn?" Luke asked. The dog barked several times.
"He says it's straight from this road; take a left where the 10th lamppost is; take a right at the orange house with a lemon tree. Then you should make it there!"
"All right! Let's go!" Athena jumped up in excitement.
Wait! Are-
"Oh yeah thank him Luke!" Athena said ready to go.
"Don't worry I'm on it!" Luke said back.
The dog barked.
"Thanks!"
The dog barked again.
Ok let's be on our way.
"Tally ho!" Athena exclaimed.
(Great now we're getting weird glares from the crowd. Even Luke. Good thing he rushed out there)
Wait for me!
(Not standing around being awkward!)
We ran to the scene of the crime at Township Inn. The police were all of the place. The Inn was huge, complete with 3 floors. The area was blocked off from the rest of the town.
Umm. Hello sir?
I tapped on a police officer shoulder.
"What's with you, mate?"
(Ok that's a female.)
Athena, if you may.
(Call me a coward but that lady is super tall and scary.)
Athena approached the giant. "Hi, umm we're here, for u-
The giant cut her off "If you kids are done disrupting the investigation you'd be best be gone with it!"
"Oh sorry ma'am. We were just wondering if we can take a look at the crime scene. These 2 are from The Professor's defense team."
Luke said walking away.
"Mr. Triton why'd did you just say so." The giant gave a huge smile.
"Right this way."
She escorted us through the crowd to get to the kitchen.
(Does Luke get rights just for being a gentleman or is he considered a celebrity?) The policewoman said that no one was doing work in the kitchen anymore. Just doing the paper work and getting the residents someplace to stay while the Inn has been rid of every piece of evidence. She handed us some evidence like the autopsy and the picture of the scene.
Ok first things, first. Let's see where the body was laying down. Then let's look for other clues.
"Ok." Athena and Luke said in unison.
There's a lot of blood on this side of the kitchen. (Gonna write that down.)
Athena asked "Isn't that normal? Well I mean Comet died there."
No cause the body is marked on your side of the kitchen.
(So Comet was stabbed and tried to escape. Or was his body dragged to hide it?)
"The autopsy says it was excessive bleeding." Luke said.
So he probably got injured with something either a knife or bullet. But which one?
"Can't it be both?" Luke questioned, curious.
"That would be weird, a bit overkill." Athena answered.
Then, why did we get a knife and a gun? They do look very different. Wait I got it! Luke, if he was holding a gun to your head, can you see it?
"Yeah. I was wondering about that earlier." Athena added.
(Why you always lying? Seriously though. Its like she forgets about me seeing nervous habits.)
"I guess I didn't see a gun. But I definitely heard it." Luke admitted.
I think that makes sense. But why the gunshot? It still makes no sense.
"Maybe when we see the Professor again we can ask?" Athena asked.
Yeah, that sounds like a good idea. But is there anything else can we find?
Luke started to heave deep breaths. He was looking underneath the counter.
"It's it's. The the. Kn-" Luke stuttered.
"The?" Athena asked.
Luke fainted.
Luke? Luke!
(A huge part of me wants to scream Nooooooo! But the other side is telling me to go revive him.)
Athena! Go get a bowl or something can hold water!
Athena rushed over to the cabinets.
"Got one!" Athena shouted. "Man all this excitement, I can hardly container myself." Athena rushed over to Luke, giggling at her pun.
(Luke, you are so lucky.)
Pour it on him already!
I got down on the floor and saw what Luke was talking about. I grabbed the knife.
(Wow all these policemen and no one saw this?)
"Ugggh. Athena? Apollo? Why Am I soaking wet?" Luke groaned.
Athena and I exchanged glances.
Oh, yeah, um, Athena was being a bit clumsy and dropped water on you.
"Then how come I can't remember it? And why am I on the floor?" Luke asked.
Athena and I looked at each other again.
"Oh yeah you slipped and fell I guess you hit your head somewhere." Athena said.
(That was close. One bad bluff and Luke would be even more traumatized.)
"Hey guys what's that?" Luke asked.
(Please don't faint again. Please don't faint again.)
"Hey that looks like a bullet hole!" Athena gasped.
It does! It looks like where the blood trail started. Wait. Umm can't believe I never thought to ask this. Luke, was the Kitchen full of people or just you and the Professor and Comet?
"It was just us. All the kitchen staff was in the break room. Even the janitors." Luke said.
Then why was Comet there? I mean your visit was well known in Inn. The staff greeted you there and everything.
"It's like he wanted to come after me." Luke said, thinking his shoes were more important than the conversation.
Athena butted in,"Maybe we should report back to the boss."
Ok, I think that's a good idea.
