When did this happen?

Brad's P.O.V

I finally got to the park and there were loads of people there. I wondered through until I finally bumped in to Charlie,

"Brad you're back!" She smiled and threw her arms round me 

"Hey charlie, what's going on?" I asked smiling at her

"Yeah it's good to see you to" She huffed

"I'm sorry, it's great to see you" I said suddenly worrying I had offended her 

"It's fine, I'm only messing with you" She laughed

"Thank god" I laughed, "So, why's the park the new place to be?"

"Oh it's not really, Theo's just doing some more of his buisness" She mumbled 

"What do you mean?" I asked 

"Oh Brad, you have got a LOT to catch up on" She said looking kinda worried about what she was about to explain

"Ok, I would love to know everything but I really have to go and see Mia first, do you know where she is?" I asked 

"Um yeah, but you really need to know somthing first" She started to say

"Please, can it wait? I've got to see her" I begged and she sighed before walking off. I followed her over to the big huddle of people. There was a table set up and lots of people were gathered round it. There was a van behind the table and we walked passed that.. Just beside the van was a picknic table and there was sat Mia lokoing down at her phone. I smiled instantly,

"Mia" I smiled walking over to her waiting for her usualy responce

"Oh hey Brad, I didn't know you came home today" She smiled looking up but not moving from the table. What.. She was meant to run in to my arms and ask how I was. What is going on?

"Oh um, yeah, I got back about an hour ago" I said still shocked from her responce 

"Well that's cool" She said and then the weridest thing happened. Theo walked over and placed both hands on her hips pulling her in to a kiss. What is going on?

"Hey babe, buisness is almost finished" He smiled at her 

"Oh, hey Theo" I said, my heart has sank, Theo knows that Mia and I have had something between us, he knew I liked her, so why would he do this to me?

"Oh, Brad, why are you here?" He asked looking over at me

"He just got back from tour" Mia said to Theo rubbing his arm. His eyes were like bullets, what's happened to him, and Mia, she's not the same girl she was before I left.

"Well, that's nice, but I thought this was our time, Charlie's here as well" He said gritting his teeth

"Yeah look we're just leaving so you two can get back to 'your time' together" Charlie said grabbing my arm and pulling me away. I was still in shock I didn't move at first, but then I came too and followed Charlie away. We walked across the other side of the park and sat down by the river. I started picking up stones and throwing them in to the rive,

"What's happened to this place?" I said looking out to the river 

"Everything" She sighed, "After you left Mia was really upset, she even cried, I was with her for a while and then Theo insisted on taking care of her for a day. Then before I knew it he had convinced her to go out with him. They started out really sweet, he was nice but she was never her self around him, not like she was with you. Then about 2 weeks after Theo's dad won the lottery, and he won BIG" 

"What's that go to do with anything" I questioned still throwing stones in to the river

"Well, his dad started buying new cars, clothes and Theo got spoiled, then Theo came in to the idea of setting up his 'buisness' and started out selling clothes and CDs but then he got mixed in with the wrong people. He started to sell drugs on the side, and from this grew his anger" She continused to explain

"What happened then?" I asked now worried about Mia's saftey and stopped throwing stones and sat down beside charlie

"Well, one day a few guys messed with him for him not paying right away, he'd left his money at Mia's so they gave him a bit of a fight. He lost and ended up with some bruses on his face. Then he started boxing, he's pretty hard now and has gotten in a lot of fights, most of which he's won" She said 

"What about Mia?" I asked 

"As far as I know he hasn't laid a finger on her, but I do know that he's very controlling, he not very nice to her family and Mia is only allowed to see me when he says, she's also not allowed to talk to guys so if I were you I would try and stay out of it" Charlie said 

"I can't stay out of it, Mia's in trouble" I shouted 

"No she's not, he's not hurting her, and she's happy with him" Charlie said making me calm down

"You're sure?" I asked, I will never let anything bad happen to Mia, even if she has a boyfriend now, and that boys happens to be my ex-bestfriend. 

"I am sure, and please brad, you getting involved is a really bad idea, he might let you talk to her anyway, he knows your just friends" She said 

"Yeah, I guess" I mumbled running a hand through my hair. What is there I can do anyway, it's her life, her choice, if she loves him, then there's nothing I can do....
