Through Your Eyes

We are opposites, you and I,
My world is purely black and white,
While you stare up at a blue sky
The colours I see are those of the night.

Red, gold, purple, yellow and green,
For you the world is full of magic,
But those are colours I've never seen,
And you think it's very tragic.

I'll never see the teal of the ocean
Or appreciate the beauty of a sunset
Or know why colours link with emotion
Or why you've been red since we met

You tried to describe the world to me,
From the melting gold of a sunrise,
To the insignificant flea,
And to reward you, I have a surprise

There is this small, quaint shop
That offers the most amazing thing
This black and white life did stop
When I saw a rainbow ring

I got it just for you,
I have something to say too.

You are the one that coloured my life,
Do me the honour of making me your wife?
