Beep! Beep! Beep! Uggghh my stupid alarm clock goes off, meaning another day of school. Thank God its Friday though. I want to sleep in bed all day, but my parents wouldn't allow it. "Gwen,"my mom called, "you need to get up!"

"Okay mom," I say. I get up, get dressed, and ready to go meet Eric outside. Eric picks me up every morning to drive me to school. It's so sweet of him to do because otherwise I would be taking the bus. "Well bye mom. We're gonna be late if I eat breakfast. I will see you later!" I yell to my mom as I rush out of the door.

There he is. My boyfriend, Eric, standing out here waiting on me. He is so sweet and really cute. He has wonderful brown hair, and gorgeous green eyes. And he has a nice face with amazing features and a great jawline. Suddenly he turns around and sees me."Hey Gwen!" Eric says.

"Good morning! Ready for school?" I reply back. Then he gives me a quick kiss on the lips meaning yes. I just love it when he does that, it's so romantic. After our quick kiss, we get into the car and he drives us to our school.

After school, Eric drops me off at my house. I get out the car and we say bye. Then I get my keys, unlock the door, and walk inside. "Hey honey. Did you have a nice day?" my mom calls from in the kitchen.

"Hey. Yeah. I got my pre-cal test back. I got a 97%."

"Oh wow, really?! That's great Gwen!" My mom exclaims while embracing me in a hug.

"What's that I hear about 97? Did my little girl get a 97?" My dad calls from in the living room.

Annoyed, I say, "Yes dad. I got a 97. And I'm not your little girl anymore."

"Well tomorrow you're definitely not little anymore. Your 17th birthday is tomorrow. Did you forget?!" My dad tells me.

Oh yeah! I totally forgot my birthday party tomorrow. My parents want to have a family lunch tomorrow and later let me throw a party. All my friends are coming and my parents are going to let me stay in charge of it while they go to the movies. My parents are so cool like that and I'm very responsible. " Yeah, I did forget. Thanks for reminding me. I can't wait!"

"Well 17 is a special year, especially for you." My mom tells me.

Confused, I say, "How?! Its not like I'm turning 18. Now that is a special year."

"Well, honey, it...uh...just is. Just trust me, 17 is important. And that reminds me, your mom and I will have something very important to tell you tomorrow." My dad replies.

"Ok , great! I can't wait!" I almost shout back. I'm really excited because I wonder what it is they have to tell me. Nothing exciting ever really happens to me.
