Canada's alarm clock blared ear screechingly on his bedside table. He groaned and swiftly turned off the alarm and felt around the table for his glasses. He'd just been awoken from his dream and was quite upset. Once he found his glasses, he put them on and stood up to start preparing for the day. He got dressed to go outside and ate some leftover pancakes he made the other day. Fresh ones still tasted better, but he was more tired today than the rest.
The countries had a meeting today and Canada liked to get there extra early so he could add his name to the list of people that need to be checkmarked as present.
As Canada was about to walk out the door to his home, he called for Kumajiro, but the bear seemed to be nowhere in sight. Having been used to the bear running off at times, Canada simply shrugged his shoulders and continued heading to the meeting.
Canada strolled along the cobblestone path, feeling alone and slightly missing the comfort of carrying his bear. He breathed in the cool winter breeze and exhaled a puff of air. He pulled his jacket closer to him. He then heard frantic running footsteps come his way, Canada just looked down at the ground as he expected the runner to pass him by.
However, he was extremely startled and shrieked when the runner suddenly came up to him and grasped at his shoulders, shaking him and yelling at him with a rough accent.
"HAVE JOU SEEN MY GILBIRD? HE'S YELLOW AND POSSIBLY THE CUTEST THING YOU HAVE EVER SEE--" he cut off when Canada looked up at the man before him, wide eyed with fright, Canada gaped at this scary intruder grasping his shoulders. He noticed the mans' eyes which were the most stunning shade of red he has ever seen. And his hair was pure white like snow, he looked like something out of a fairytale.
Canada felt a rush of dizziness and something else he couldn't explain. He could feel the mans' hands on his shoulders, which caused his shoulders to burn, He felt his cheeks turn red and he instantly felt hot despite the chilly air.
This man was absolutely beautiful.
Canada realized he might have been silently gaping too long and hadn't even answered the mans' question.
"Oh..um.. I don't think I've seen a yellow bird.." He mumbled softly and quickly, turning his head down in the process, trying to calm his rapid heartbeat and blushing. Why was he so worked up by him? He could feel the mans' eyes on him, which caused him to blush deeper.
"Ah," the man replied, his voice confused. He took his hands off Canada's shoulders and almost immediately Canada felt a sense of lost. The silence seemed to stretch on as Canada fixed his eyes on the ground while the stranger stared at him.
"Well.. I'm uh gonna be late for my meeting.. So I should go..And! I'm sorry that I couldn't help you with your bird.." Canada trailed off, he was always bad at speaking and silently cursed himself for being so lame. He looked up at the stranger. The man kept staring straight at Canada with an unreadable expression in his eyes and a smile tugging on his lips. Canada glanced at the mans' lips probably a bit too long and noticed a smirk taking over the smile.
Canada immediately shivered and blushed again while shouting, well, as close to a shout as the quiet Canadian could muster, a "good bye" and a "good day to you" before promptly, running away.
And as Canada sprinted away, he could finally breathe again and could hear the stranger speak and very loudly say, "VERDAMMT! That was totally unawesome of me!"
