"Finally." Sav cried, faking exasperation as Phil appeared in the garage doorway, Steve in tow.

Joe closed the door again after them, keeping the remaining heat inside.

"C'mon, let's go up to my room. It's warm there." Joe was dressed only in shorts and a tank top - it was no surprise he was cold in the garage. Sav, on the other hand, was bundled up in Joe's clothes.

Typical.

Steve was only half-there, or even less. He was only mildly hungover, but with his hip flask his best friend, the consumption had already resumed.

Phil felt lost as to what to do anymore. All he could do is sing and hope Steve heard.

Joe and Sav plopped down on Joe's bed, Phil and Steve following suit. Joe had called Rick too, but he had been woken up by the singer's call.

After being screamed at, Joe decided Rick could be filled in the next day.

"Okay, guys. This is gonna sound cheesy at first, and we don't even really know what it's about but-"

"Pour some sugar on me." Sav cut in.

"What the fuck?"

Those were the first words Phil had heard Steve utter since his drunken tirade last night.

"Calm yourself, tiger." Sav chuckled, his usual sass tugging harder at the strings of Steve's temper.

Steve grumbled something under his breath.

Phil shrugged.

"Got a riff?"

Joe strummed the guitar around his neck, firing out a quick up-and-down motion on the strings, fingers darting up and down the fret board.

"That's hot." Steve raised his eyebrows, tugging his own guitar out of the case and trying out the riff after watching Joe again.

Phil silently agreed, removing his guitar from the case and slinging it around his neck and shoulders.

"Pour some sugar on me?" Phil asked, chuckling softly.

"In the name of love." Joe sang back, a goofy grin crossing his lips.

Steve found himself laughing at the funky lyrics, but he played the riff again, just getting comfortable with it.

"I like it." He murmured, improvising a bit of a fill-in.

"I told you guys it was great. I have the first verse done from a session last night. I already have ideas for the rest of the song, though.. so get to it. Remember, our goal for release is March '87!" Joe attempted to pump the guitarists up, but to no avail.

"Joe, we haven't even begun recording and it's November. We still have got to deal with all the legal shite, mate. I call it August." Sav knocked some sense into his boyfriend with stinging reality, leaning back on the bed.

Joe grumbled something under his breath.

"Yeah.. maybe."

Sav laughed.

"You two go work on this shit at home. March!" Joe called, as Phil and Steve trotted out of Joe's room.
