Chapter 24

Recap:

"You guys," I caught their attention, "how long as SuJin been in the bathroom?" Everybody looked at one another to see if they had answers but, no one seemed to know of SuJin's whereabouts. SuJin had disappeared and I couldn't help but wonder if the missing Yurin had anything to do with it.

MinJi's POV

"She's been gone for roughly half an hour already." Kris noted.

Lay and Chanyeol stood from their chairs abruptly. Cathy and I shared a look before running off to the bathrooms. I dodged the tables as I ran toward the hallway all the way across the spacious room. I entered the dark secluded hallway with Lay right behind me. Where'd Cathy go?, I thought but, I threw the thought away, focused on just SuJin at the moment. As I walked speed into the darkness, I heard a door slam shut and a dark figure walk toward me. When the figure hit the light, I realized it was Yurin. Her hair was a bit messed up but, at the moment I didn't care. Ignoring her presence completely, I brushed past her and headed for the lady's restroom with Lay on my tail. I stopped in front of the door with my hand resting on the doorknob.

"Why are you waiting?" Lay asked. Well, I'm about to turn left onto awkward street.

"Well~ Ya know. This the room the lady's room." I said, putting emphasis on lady. In the darkness I think I saw Lay's cheeks tinge to a light pink.

"Right. I'll- I'll just wait out here."

I nodded at his decision before pushing open the door. I entered the room and let the door swing shut behind me, leaving me in pitch blackness. I turned to flip the light switch on, but when I flicked it, there was no product. The power was out. I grumbled silently to myself as I pulled out my phone from my bag. Successful, a small square of faint light illuminated part of the room but, there was still too much darkness for my taste. Playing with my phone light, I noticed the water was running, filling the basin faster than it could drain, leaving water spilling over the edge like a waterfall and hitting the ground, causing a water hazard. The mirror was cracked in the right bottom corner but, no sign of SuJin. I grimaced, knowing that with her condition, this no-light situation would drive her crazy.

"Is everything alright in there?" Lay's muffled voice came through the door.

"Yeah!" I replied back, turning toward the toward the door to help my voice project through it. Turning my body to the door meant turning my phone (and phone light) too and when it did hit the door, I jumped. Scratch marks littered the bottom half of the door like a painting someone drew with their eyes blindfolded. The lock of the door was in between locked and unlocked as if someone was in a rush to lock it but, didn't dare take more than a few seconds to lock it completely. Some incoherent sounds were coming from the biggest stall, the one at the very end. I slowly advanced toward it, being as slick and sly as possible. When I was standing in front of the closed door, I eased it open with a loud groan from the rusty old hinges. Huddled in the darkest corner, was a crying SuJin.

MinJi's POV

Not only did Lay and Kai know that something was up with SuJin, everybody did. Just more food to add to my plate.

"Hey. MinJi? Are you okay? You've seemed off ever since that trip to the States." Hiro waved a spoon in my face, grabbing me out of my thoughts.

"Y-yeah. I'm fine." I managed to say. The Wave staff were all currently in the back room, having our lunch break which, I found ironic considering we were a restaurant that made lunch, but it was a Sunday. And on Sunday's we ate lunch that everybody pitched in to make. I had to admit, it was kinda awesome. Everybody pitched into make the food. Well except DJ and Hyun Jae. They kinda got a free ride, but nobody seemed bothered with that idea.
