Danny's POV:
She's so gorgeous. I don't know what is wrong with those American guys because they are obviously blind. Jen is so kind and beautiful and one of the nicest people on the planet.
"Danny? you there?" Jen asks me, waving her hand in my face.
"What? yeah I'm fine no worries," I brush off her concern as I gaze at the menu.
"What can I get you guys today?" I look up and see a plastic-looking waitress eyeing me.
"Um excuse me, I know that my friend is really attractive and everything but can you stop ogling him and take our drinks orders right now?" Declan asks and the whole table laughs.
Snapping her gum, she glares at Declan and then takes our orders, winking at me before sashaying away.
"Wow somebody's a bit of a tramp." Tatiana mutters and Jen laughs.
We were all sitting in a big diner booth and just hanging out on a Saturday afternoon. we already went into several stores only to get kicked out and took every sample there was to offer at the ice cream shop (Jack had to flirt a bit with the girl behind the counter but it worked out).
"So guys who's up for surfing today?" I ask, looking at everyone.
"Sure!"
"Did you even have to ask me that?"
"Umm I don't think I can go surfing today, really sorry you guys." I turn to see Jen looking at her drink.
My shoulders sag and I open my mouth to say something but then Finn says, "why not? are you Americans just too scared to handle the waves?"
"No I just can't today. I wish I could through," she replies.
"Here's your food everyone! Have a great day," the waitress comes with our food and bends down right in front of me, her shirt unbuttoned more than before as she slowly places my meal in front of me before winking (again) and whispering, "call me later" before strutting off.
She's just one nasty girl. that's just not attractive.
"I think I just lost my appetite. That waitress is just downright skanky." Luke and Avery say as Andrew takes their food.
How the guy eats so much and stays so skinny is beyond me. We all eat and then walk out after paying the bill. I look at Jen, her black hair being pushed out of her face due to the slight breeze.
"Do you need a ride home Jen?" Finn, Derek and I all ask at the same time.
"Uhh yeah sure," she replies, looking a little lost.
"Guys I have to go get something from my house anyways so ill just take Jen to her house and then pick up what I need and meet you guys at the beach, yeah?" I immediately take the opportunity before the others get a chance to open their mouths.
With a raised eyebrow, Avery says, "Sounds good to me guys. See ya later guys."
"Bye everyone!" Jen smiles and hugs everyone goodbye, Finns and Derek both hugging her for a little too long for my liking.
I walk with her to my car, open the door for her and then get behind the wheel and start the engine.
"Oh my chicken nuggets I love this song!" Jen exclaims as I turn a corner onto the costal highway.
"What song is it?" I ask
"Not Over You by Gavin DeGraw!" she squeals and begins to sing along, harmonizing perfectly with the singer.
If you ask me, how I'm doing
I would say I'm doing just fine.
I would lie and say that you're not on my mind.
But I go out, and I sit down
At a table set for two
And finally I'm forced to face the truth.
No matter what I say, I'm not over you.
I stare at her in awe as she continues to sing. Her voice is flawless! I didn't know anyone could sing like that.
When the song ends, I turn to her for a moment and say,
"wow, your voice is amazing! you are seriously talented. no wonder you're in chorale!"
"Thanks Danny," she glanced at me before turning away, blushing.
"So where do I get off the highway?" I ask.
"Umm it's the next exit I think. I live by the little park and the primary school."
"Really? I do too!" I reply as I pull off the highway.
Soon enough we pull into the neighborhood and she points out her house. which happens to be right down the street from mine.
"Okay well thanks for inviting me Danny! I had fun," she smiles and I get out to open her door and walk her to her front door.
"Yeah no problem! I actually live right up the street from you, but I had no clue that you moved into this house,"
"Okay well see you later Danny," she says again as she unlocks her front door.
Quickly, I bend down a bit (I'm 6'2") to hug her before she goes inside. she freezes for a minute and then relaxes. I smile as she pulls away and then wave goodbye. I walk to my car, giddy that I was the one to drive her home, open the doors for her and hug her goodbye like that.
With a smile on my face, I pull out of her driveway and pull into mine. opening the garage door, I jog inside to grab my short board and wetsuit before driving off to the beach again.
