Life's Too Short

Hospital

When Sam awoke he was in a hospital room with a bunch of monitors hooked up to him.  He looked over and saw Sean in the bed next to him.  Sam tried to remember what happened and more importantly who was this man next to him? Did he know him? Where was his mother? Or did he even have a mother? All these thoughts ran through Sam's head. All of a sudden Lana ran into the room running over to Sam and completely ignoring Sean.
"Sam, oh I'm so glad your okay!" She sobbed.  As Lana leaned in to give Sam a hug...
"WHO THE HECK ARE YOU?!" Sam yelled.  Lana was shocked at her sons reaction and she was heartbroken, her own son didn't even know her.
"Sam, it's me, your mom." Lana responded as calmly as she could.
"YOUR NOT MY MOM, I DON'T HAVE A MOM, AT LEAST NOT THAT I KNOW OF." Sam responded. Lana was broken when she heard her own son say this.
"Yes, Sam, you do have a mother, I'm your mother." Lana said.
"Listen lady, If you don't leave this room right now I'm called security!" Sam threatened.
"Sam, it's me please remember!" Lana begged.  Sam hit his button and a nurse appeared at the door.
"What's the matter young man?" The nurse asked.
"GET THIS LUNATIC OUT OF MY ROOM RIGHT NOW!" Sam yelled.  At this point Lana broken down crying and ran out of the room.  All of a sudden Sam felt dangerously angry.  He got out of his bed and grabbed his pocket knife out of his pocket.  He went over to the nurse and held it up to her neck.  The nurse immediately yelled for help.  All of sudden Sam was back to normal, he had no idea what just happened. Although he remembered something very important to him...his mother.  She was here. I treated her horrible. She will never forgive me. I yelled at her. I threatened her. Will she love me again? Sam's head was full of pain and regret of the way he treated his mother.  I have to find her Sam thought to himself.  I'm coming mom he thought as he ran out of the hospital.
