"Well, at least now you have his name. Rehan. I like it", says Kanika, one of my best friends in the world. We're on a phone call that I made in order to wish her a happy birthday, which happens to be today, 22nd December. I had to tell her about this whole Mr.Y fiasco. She's probably the most sensible person I know , and we just happen to be similar in many ways. It just makes our bond even stronger.
"Yeah. The pictures are on the way", I say as I send about five to six photos of Y that Jasmeet gathered for me through Facebook.
"He is indeed good looking. And cute too", she says.
"I know right!", I exclaim.
"Samaira, I wish something happens between the two of you", she says enthusiastically.
I just laugh.
"No, seriously! I know that you both would look great together!"
I don't know how to respond to that. Do I really wanna be with this guy? I mean I can say that I don't have any kind of feelings towards him, but if I were to imagine us in a hypothetical scenario, I wouldn't mind.
"Oh come on, I don't even like him or something."
"But you do like his hair...and height",she retorts.
"Yes but that's because probably it reminds me of myself on some level. It just goes to show how much I love myself.", I say. We both crack up on that one.
After a few more minutes of chit-chatting and teasing, we hang up.

"I just want this day to end soon.", I say as I place my bag beside my desk in the morning as I reach the classroom. It's the last working day of school before the winter vacations begin.
"Candy is present today, you know, and a few other 12thies that go in my bus.", Jasmeet tells me as she takes a sip from her water bottle. 'Candy' is not actually the name of a person. It's a name I gave to that guy, Nihal, who happens to be Y's friend, a long time back.
It was back in the 8th grade. We were having our Social Science class. Our teacher, Ms.Tanya had given us a break to relax after a long class assignment. She was herself sitting casually on the teacher's chair while playing on her phone.Jasmeet and I were partners even back then. Then, this guy, Nihal Singh Anand entered the class and started talking casually with Ms.Tanya. He seemed pretty open and casual with her. I always thought that we'll be the same when we reach senior classes but sadly, that doesn't seem to be case as of now. Not that our teachers now are uptight and tend to get on our nerves now and then. Just saying.
"Nihal bhaiya goes in my bus Samaira", Jazz told me while pointing at him. Then we saw Nihal pick up Ms.Tanya's phone and started playing the game Candy Crush Saga. Since then, whenever I spotted him in the school I would say "Jasmeet, see Candy Crush bhaiya". 'Candy' is a shortened version of the name, for the sake of convenience, obviously.
"Then, maybe Y is present too!", I say, already getting excited. After almost a week of not seeing him in school, the news that he might be there gives me hope to survive this day.
"This is gonna be an exciting day", Tahira says. "I wish I can see Samarth, too."
The day has almost come to an end at school, and we still haven't seen them both. Seeing me a bit caught up with myself, Tahira calls out to Jasmeet who's in the washroom stall "Can't you ever be quick, Jasmeet."
"Yeah come on, get out now. We're getting late, if we want to spot Y.", says Naina.
We all head out of the girls' washroom and go straight to the 12th grade corridor. "They're all gone again!", I say, somewhat agitated. "Don't worry we'll find him.", Tahira says. "Yeah we will.", agrees Naina.
"I will see him today.....if he's in my Destiny", I say, remembering the uncanny events of the other day. We're all laughing now.
We're heading down the flight of stairs that we spot a lot of 12th graders getting their friends to write something on their shirts with colourful markers. "Wait a minute", I say, realising how today was meant to be one of the most memorable days of a senior student's life.
"It's Scribble Day."
