Noah grins as he leads her to the couch.  "Of course, a-anything. What do you want to know?" he asked lightly.

"What... what exactly are you?" she asked quietly. From there, they were led into a long conversation of the history of vampires. From this conversation, Carrie found that she was one, Noah was one, Darien was one, and so was her best friend. She could live forever, she could choose to drink human blood or animal blood, and for some reason she could still eat human food? It just wouldn't taste as good? This was so much information to take in, in such little time.  But looking at Noah as he was talking, and remembering what was blooming between them, she knew she'd be just fine.

Suddenly, there was a loud crash! Noah jumped and stood, running to the doorway. What he saw then obviously wasn't good, as he suddenly grabbed Carrie and super sped her into her room.

"Stay here." Carrie obviously wasn't having this. Her theory of this not being good was confirmed when she saw who she guessed to be other vampires running downstairs.

"What? No! Noah, I want to help. Let me help!" She pleaded. Noah grabbed her arm as she moved to go downstairs.

"No, Carrie. I'm not gonna lose you to them." Without another word, Noah ran out of the room and downstairs. Carrie, stubbornly, ran after him, but stopped at the top of the stairs after the first face she saw. One of the only faces she knew. Her mother. Her mother was there, in some weird get-up, dressed in brown, a bag of weapons near her feet and two wooden stakes in her hands. The stake her mother held went straight through the heart of the first vampire she saw, a young blonde girl, didn't look much older than she was herself. Carrie screamed as the vampire turned to dust and all heads turned to her. Carrie grasped her heart and immediately locked eyes with her mother who called out "Retreat!" without her gaze leaving her daughter's eyes.

The crew of hunters piled out the door. As the door locked and Darien and others watched to make sure the hunters actually left, Noah rushed to Carrie. He held a hand to her cheek as she looked up at him, tears rolling down her face. She began to sob hard, Noah pulling her to his chest to comfort her. "I'm so sorry, love. You shouldn't have had to see that." he muttered. She could barely register his words with how hard she was sobbing, but her mother had just stabbed some poor girl and didn't even look somewhat damaged by the life she had just taken. Her mother is killing vampires?

---

They have a short funeral for the vampire girl, collecting her ashes and releasing them into the ocean. Carrie didn't even know her but wants to cry just at the simple fact that her mother caused this. Her mother was taking lives and didn't seem to have any remorse over it. Later that day, she sat down with Noah, Darien, Jennifer and Darien's daughter, Stella. They had been sitting in silence for a while, everyone knowing Carrie had questions, but not what kind, nor how many, nor how to answer them.

Finally, Carrie broke the silence.

"So... what exactly were those people?" she asked. Darien and Noah looked at each other. "They were hunters." Noah told her.

"Their sole purpose in life is to hunt down and kill all mythical creatures. And to their luck, 5 years ago, they stumbled upon our coven and have been trying to wipe us out ever since." Stella explained. Carrie swallowed before asking her next question. "Did you know my mother was one?"

Noah shook his head, as did Stella and Jennifer. But Darien nodded. Noah and Stella gave him a look of shock, but Carrie remained stock-still and numb. A tear slipped from her eye and Noah slowly reached up, not caring that the others were watching, and wiped away her tears. Carrie grabbed at his hand and held it. She kissed his palm and stood, dropping it. She moved towards the doorway.

"I want to go see her." she said. Everyone in the room immediately began to protest, before she cut them off by raising her hand.

"And I want all of you to go with me."
