Caleb’s POV.

‘We have to keep watch on every single corner of the territory, we must. We cannot afford another attack from the Russet Graphite pack. If you see anything out of place report to me or alpha Senai right away.’ I said making my beta power spill throughout every word I spoke.

‘Yes sir.’ My fellow pack mates responded in unison.

I nodded my head dismissing them and when I turned my head around notecing a set of honey colored eyes just looking at me.

Aleya.

I could feel my wolf just wanting to go to her and claim her. I could feel a pull towards her and I wasn’t going to deny what I felt for her.

As I starred at her she suddenly turned her gaze away from mine and my wolf detected that something was wrong with her.

I shifted back into my human skin and grabbed a pair of shorts that were nearby and approached her.

“Aleya?” I called out to her but her beautiful gaze wouldn’t turn back to me so I tried again and gently placed my hand on her arm.

“Hey what’s wrong? Did something happen?” I asked her and with my other hand I grabbed her chin so she could look at me.

“I’m fine.” Was her short reply and tried to walk past me attempting to get away but I held her arm a bit tight.

“Just tell me what’s wrong?” I asked her.

Her gaze turned back to me and she starred right into my eyes.

“Caleb, I-I… Thank you so much for being so nice to me.” She said and sounded a little sad but her gaze still remained locked with mine.

I couldn’t help but smile.

She made me happy and made me feel so warm inside. I had to have her. I had to fight for her.

“Aw come on.” I pulled Aleya into a tight hug and I couldn’t help but take a deep breath of her sweet scent of roses.

Aleya tightened her arms around me and I let out a chuckle due to her tight embrace.

“You’re the best friend I‘ve ever had Caleb.” She whispered.

Her light whispers tickled my skin and sent shivers down my spine.

After a few seconds, Senai interrupted my good moment and made me growl internally.

‘Where the hell are you Caleb? I need you at my house now, I have important news and I bet you want to hear it.’ He said and he didn’t sound so happy. Well actually he is never happy.

‘Jesus, fine I’m coming. Give me a few minutes.’ I answered him and put up my mental barrier.

I let go of Aleya and looked down at her beautiful face, my fingers lightly grazing her cheek.

“I have to go, Senai is mind linking me. Seems like something’s up.” I told her and smiled.

“Oh okay. What do you want for dinner though?” She asked me.

“Hm, how about some chicken, I don’t care how you do it I just want chicken.” I said and smiled at her once again.

She nodded and I smiled letting go of her and made my way down the path.

“Caleb, I’ll see you tonight then.” She waved at me and smiled.

“Alright, bye Aleya.” I waved back at her over my shoulder and continued to walk to Senai’s house.
