Chapter 9.

Aleya’s POV.

When I went back to Caleb’s house I went up stairs and I changed into more comfortable clothes, then came back down and started cooking what he asked for. I was thinking of cooking some stir fry because after all Caleb liked whatever I made.

I was glad that Caleb didn’t notice what I was thinking back there though, it became easier for me to look at him again and smile. Although I didn’t want to push it with asking him about her. His mate.

I Shooked my head, shaking the thoughts away and I started to cook, humming a little song I had stuck in my head for a while.

I was enjoying my time alone when someone screamed out my name and barged into the house.

I was startled but I yelled back my reply. “What?”

The voice called out to me again and I recognized it.

“Jess? I’m in the kitchen.” I said and her footsteps grew closer until she ran into the kitchen gasping for air.

“What’s wrong?” I asked her. Stopping what I was doing.

Jess took a deep breath before she spoke again.

“Caleb… and… Senai.” She said through her heavy breathing.

I was starting to get impatient about what she wanted to say, it was clearly important.

“What about them?” I asked and kept my eyes on her as she straightened up.

“They got into a fight… Caleb got injured badly and he is at the pack hospital. My father is attending him.” She said.

“No…” I whispered. My eyes widened and I couldn’t help the gasp that escaped my lips. Caleb was injured, I had to see him. I ran a hand through my hair and turned off the stove in a hurry then ran out of the house with Jess running behind me.

That demon alpha will surely pay.

“Is he going to be okay?” I turned back to look at Jess.

“I’m not sure.” She said.

That worried me even more and I just had to see him for myself to make sure he was okay. It urged me to know. I didn’t want to lose him, he was all I had.

I ran as fast as I could until I arrived to the pack hospital and barged in through the doors.

I looked around and I sniffed the air to indentify his scent. It will lead me to him. I didn’t have time to ask Jess I just had to see him.

I followed his scent and walked into a small room far into the hall, and there he was.

“Caleb.” I whispered and slowly walked towards him.

The wound on his shoulder looked really bad and he had scratch marks on his chest. He was still unconscious and his skin was very pale.

Senai. He will surely pay.

I was starting to get agitated with worry but then the pack doctor came into the room asking me to leave.

I hesitated for a few seconds but did as they asked and walked out of the room.

I walked back to the small waiting room where Jess was waiting and I sat beside her.

Jess turned towards me and gave me a faint smile.

“He will be fine.” She assured me.

“Where is he?” I asked.

“Where’s who?” Jess tilted her head looking a bit confuse.
