"Hn. Dobe."

"What?" I look up to see a man with black hair styled like that of a ducks bottom and black eyes. Pale skin covered a sharp nose and high cheek bones that lead down to a thin but kissable pale pink mouth. I didn't get to finish looking at him before his looks were ruined by him opening his mouth.

"I said, 'Dobe.' Dobe." That gorgeous mouth twisted into a smirk as black eyes sparkled with mirth and a hint of something else.

"Who are you calling 'Dobe', bastard?!" I shouted, quickly getting to my feet only to lose balance once more.

"You, obviously. Are you mentally challenged?"

"No!" I growled.

"Oh. My. God! That's Sasuke Uchiha!" Sakura squealed as she came running, or should I say skating, over.

"Hn," Sasuke grunted, looking at Sakura with disinterest.

"Can I get your autograph? I just love your book, 'Behind the Mask'. It was so enthralling and riveting!" Sakura squealed even louder, holding a copy of his book towards him.

"Whatever," Sasuke frowned, taking the sharpie Sakura was holding out to him and quickly signing it.

By this time I was infuriated. I quickly challenged him to a race around the rink, cheering in victory when he agreed.

"Looks like you lost, dobe," Sasuke smirked down at me after I fell not even a foot from where the make-shift finish line was.

I growled and quickly got up, glaring at the Uchiha in utter defeat.

"May I know the name of the person I just beat?"

"Naruto Uzumaki. Remember that name because you'll be seeing it everywhere! And that's a promise!" I shouted, turning around and skating towards the exit then leaving soon after.

S.U.

Sasuke Uchiha. I jotted down his initials on my hand, wanting to look him up later. I had been wanting, no, needing to search him on the internet only I kept forgetting until now.

Sasuke Uchiha. He interested me greatly. He was handsome, no doubt about that, but the way he carried himself, how he talked, the way he talked. I want to know more about him. I borrowed the book he signed from Sakura, promising to give it back to her in its original form after she threatened to kill me if it wasn't, however, I haven't gotten around to reading it.

"I have some free time now..." I thought to myself, heading to where I set the book down when I first received it.

"Behind the Mask," I read aloud. I grabbed some snacks and a drink before going to my room. I hurriedly laid down and got comfortable, opening the book to page one.

True friendships have always both confused and eluded me. Either they want me for my looks, money, or something else entirely, I have never had a true friend. Because of this, I have never understood how two or more people could be, in a way, true friends.

I read the first paragraph and frowned. This sounded like a depressing story and was unsure if I should continue to read it. Despite my doubts, my eyes greedily read on, never stopping.

Instead of being what I originally thought, which was a book about his thoughts or something along those lines, it was of a boy or girl going through life questioning everything. They always questioned friendship and love, never truly trusting anyone.

I finished half the book when my phone started to ring.

"Naruto Uzumaki speaking," I answered without even looking who called.
