Kaylee-
When I woke up Jhana was nowhere to be seen. As I looked for her from the cave, I noticed a strange felling in the air. Um, weird. I shrugged it off.

Finally I saw Jhana pacing back and forth in the grass. Then a rock fell on my head, and the work went black.
--------------------------------------------
Chloe-
When the earth started shaking a large boulder in my habitat started rolling around. I turned to Jhana anyway and she was running to her cave, when I looked I saw why. Kaylee was unconscious as the cave started collapsing.

I tried to find high ground to stay safe. Just as I found the place, the boulder that was rolling around rolled toward me. But I didn't notice with all the other sounds going on...
--------------------------------------------
Rachel-
The ground started to tremble, fear took over and I started looking for high ground. When my eyes landed on my cave I started running towards it. I can jump on top and I'll be perfectly fine.

But as I made my way there, I heard a scream of pain from behind me. I jerked me head around and saw Chloe being crushed by a boulder.

Everything went in slow motion, I saw a tree falling toward the fence and ran for it. I jumped at the tree and landed on it, making sure to put force behind the landing. The tree speed up and crushed the fence beneath it, but I was already running up the trunk.

I jumped to the other side and ran straight to Chloe. By the time I reached her the boulder wasn't moving anymore and the ground wasn't shaking as badly, though I could still feel it moving. I pushed the boulder as hard as I could, it barely moved, but it was still movement. Eventually gravity took over and the large rock was completely off of Chloe.

I looked her over. It had only gotten up to her shoulder, but she was out cold. At this point the ground had stopped shaking completely, and I was glad that Chloe was okay but, what about the others, were they okay?
--------------------------------------------
Jhana-
I paced back and forth in the grass. Today is Sunday, nothing so far but the air feels weird... What if my dream does come true?! It didn't take long to answer that question.

Before I knew it the ground was shaking violently and I immediately ran toward the cave. When I got there I found an unconscious Kaylee on the ground while the cave started to cave in.

I grabbed her by the scruff of her neck and started dragging her out of the cave. Suddenly it became extremely difficult to pull her out, and when I looked I saw it was because the entrance of the cave fell on her tail.

I tried desperately to wake her up but nothing was working. Finally the ground stopped shaking, as it did I roared as loud as I could to get Rachel's attention. She was the strongest of us physically. I turned around and saw Rachel jumping atop unstable rocks and finally jump over the fence.

She runs toward us and I notice something on her back for the first time, is that Chloe?

She makes it to the cave in no time and gently sets Chloe down.

"Okay," she says, assessing the situation, "I'll move the rubble, you pull her out."

I nod my head and she immediately starts pushing small rocks away. When she gets to the rock that was holding Kaylee down, I got ready to pull her out from under it.

"3," she starts the count down, "2," we both get ready, "1!"

She pushes the rock and as soon as it's off her tail I pull Kaylee into the grass. Rachel drops the rock and examines Kaylee and Chloe, who are now side by side.

"I think they'll be fine." She finally says, "Now," she looks up at me, "have you seen Nya?"
--------------------------------------------
Nya-
When I walked away from Rachel I went toward the pond to get a drink. Then the earth started shaking uncontrollably, and I fell into my den. When I tried to leave so I could find high ground a tree fell across the entrance.

That's how I got here trapped in my den calling out to my friends.

"Rachel?! Kaylee?! Chloe?! Anyone!!" I yelled as loud as I could. For a while no one answers so I call out again,"Help! I'm stuck!"

Then I hear a loud roar, "NYA!" The voice that was unmistakably Rachel's yelled.

"OVER HERE!" I screamed, hoping she heard me, she had. Before long she was outside my den, "Are you okay?!" She asked anxiously.

"Yeah I'm fine, but I'd feel even better if you would get me out of here...like, today."

"Oh, yeah, right, just a sec." With that she pushed the tree with all her might. Not long after she started pushing I was out of my den, shaking the dirt out of my fur.

"Your sure your fine?" She asked again.

"Yes definitely." I answer. "So, where are the others?"

She leads me through a hole in my fence, over a tree that connects her habitat to Chloe's, then over rocks into Jhana's and Kaylee's enclosure. Near the cave I saw Kaylee and Chloe on the ground sleeping. Chloe's arm looked like it had been crushed, as did Kaylee's tail.

Jhana was pacing back and forth in the grass a few feet away, muttering to herself. Me and Rachel tried to wake Chloe and Kaylee up, with no luck, at least they were still breathing.

"We can't stay here." Rachel finally says, braking the silence. "When Chloe and Kaylee wake up we should get out of here."

"But we'll never survive in the wild, we are zoo animals." I said.

"We were wild once, we can be wild again." She argued, "The humans have left, that means no food, and I am not going to sit here and starve to death!"

She was right, but this place has been my home for over 3 years. "This place is protected though!" I argued right back.

"Fine stay and starve if you want, but I'm going to leave by morning, with or without you!" She said, then she turned around and laid down.

I sighed and looked around, finally registering the damage the earthquake had caused. Fences were ripped apart and torn out of the ground. Trees lay on the ground and water was everywhere. Caves and dens were collapsed and the whole zoo was silent, as if no one was here but us.

I looked at the lion and otter lying on the ground, it could have been a lot worse. Honestly I don't like to show my true feelings to my friends, I am the brutality honest one, after all. But sometimes I can't help it, like right now. I find myself thinking about how bad it could have been, and I few silent tears slip down my face.

I wouldn't be able to handle the loss of one of my friends. I realize. So I made my choice, I'm going with Rachel tomorrow, all of us have to.
