After that they all left. The sandlot boys went inside and ran up to Vanessa when they saw Vanessa bleeding.

Benny got his towel and wrap it around Vanessa cut.Which was in her stomach.

"Somebody call 911" Benny yell taking Vanessa in his arms

"Already did, they are on their way" Squints said

"Good, hey Vanessa stay with me"Benny said grabbing Vanessa face when he saw that she was falling sleep.

"I'm trying Benny"Vanessa said in pain and out of breath

"Hey I can't lose not now or never"Benny said tearing up

"Benny"Vanessa said before she passed out.

"NO VANESSA" Benny yell and crying

"Son let me take her" the one of the guys said and took her from Benny. Putting her in back of the ambulance.

"Sir can he ride with you"Smalls asked

"Sure only two people " the guys said

Benny pull Smalls with him and they sat next to Vanessa

"Who put the towel son " the guy asked

"Him " Smalls said pointing at Benny

But Benny was busy looking at Vanessa making sure that she doesn't died or something

"Well it was a smart idea " the guys said going back to his work and when they got Benny and Smalls stop at the waiting room.

The rest of the boys came with Zak and Jay along her kids, behind them

"What happened" Zak said worrying

"She got stab by memorial kids. I'm sorry sir I failed to protect your daughter" Benny said while his voice broke

"It's okay son, I'm got go and asked if they have some information on her " Zak said rubbing his shoulder and walking to the lady

"And where were you all" Louis asked angry

"Out of the sandlot " Benny said low

"You dumb assess" Louis said pissed off

"Louis" Jay warn him

"What no they are the idiots that even let those kids be alone with Vanessa" Louis said

"I'm said I'm sorry " Benny said his voice breaking

"Plus I'm the oldest of this group, so don't blame them." Benny said

"Louis don't pick up a fight. It's wasn't their fault" Zak said coming to Benny side and rubbing his back

"Did they said anything" Fizzy said sadly

"they took her to surgery" Zak said

"Oh " Fizzy said looking down

Benny ran to the little church they have their in the hospital. He goes to a stand and knees down. He started to pray

Zak ran after him. When he walk in he saw Benny pray and crying hard

"Benny look at me " Zak said sitting next to him

"I can't" Benny voice broke

"Why because you feel guilty" Zak said

"I'm scared if I stop praying. Then Vanessa won't survive. I didn't pray hard last time and my grandma died" Benny said

"Benny please look at me" Zak said calm

Benny looks at Zak and he started to cry harder.

"Come here " Zak said taking Benny in his arms

"I'm sorry sir. I have failed you on protection your daughter I would understand if you don't want me to make a move on her anymore " Benny said crying

"Benny you know what I have learn from being a parent" Zak said

"What" Benny said

"You can't always protect your children but you can help them clean their cuts" Zak said

"Still if I only stay. It's would have been me and not her." Benny reply mad

"Benny go home and rest" Zak said

"I can't sir. I can't " Benny reply quietly

"Then let's go to the waiting room and wait for news of Vanessa " Zak said stand up

Benny walks behind him. When he is the waiting room he sit next to Smalls.

"Smalls do you think she got make it alive" Benny asked quietly look at him

"I know she will" Smalls said

Benny just nod his head

Three hours later

"Vanessa Bagans" the doctor said louder and everyone one stand up

"Wow loved much" the doctor said to himself

"I'm Doctor Sebastian." Sebastian said shaking Zak hand

"Zak" he replied

"So your daughter is fighter. The cut wasn't deep as we thought it was. However the towel that was put on her cut to put pressure, that save her life.if that towel would have been put, she would have die on her way here .She got be alright. She got be sore for a few days but that normal. We have to keep her for day to check on her."Sebastian said

"Alright can we see her " Zak asked

"Yeah I heard that it was a big family so I put her in a big room. She is in room 160 " Sebastian said walking away

"Zak me and kids are tired. We got be heading back home. We will come and see her tomorrow " Jay said kiss Zak cheek and walking

"My mom is here does any of you need a ride" Smalls asked

Everyone but Benny said yes and walk after Smalls

"You don't mind sir I really want to see her" Benny said shyly

"Go head I'm got go and get some food" Zak said walking the another way

Benny went up to Vanessa room and open the door. There she was sleeping in the bed. Benny walk to her side

"I'm sorry Vanessa I failed at protection you. I really do love you Vanessa. Ever since I saw you move in front of me. I thought you were very beautiful. And when I found out that Julio wanted to kiss you I was about to lose my mind. But that quote pop in my head the one said if you love someone, let them go and if they return to you then are meant to be yours . So I did and you came back. I was so happy.You know that quote that when you can't fall asleep at night because your thinking of something it's mean that where your heart belongings. Well its you where my heart belongs. It's always been you ever since I met you." Benny said taking her hand and kissing it

"You know how to melt a girls heart " Vanessa said

"You heard all of that" Benny said shocked

"Yes I did" Vanessa said smiling

"Well since I melt your heart then maybe your heart will said yes if I ask you to be girlfriend" Benny said shyly

"Yes I would be your girlfriend" Vanessa said

"Good" Benny said kissing the corner of Vanessa lips

Zak was watching from the door.
