I went to the hospital the next day, and Bella was already awake. "You're up here early." She smiled. I shrugged, "I was here yesterday as well, but you were asleep."
"You didn't have to stay." She laughed. "I wanted to. You know? Just in case you woke up."
"Well, thank you." I then set the flowers I got her on her lap. "Cal," She grinned. "Everybody at the shop misses you."
"I miss them, too. Luke wanted me to go on tour so badly though." She sighed. "Speaking of Luke..."
"He told you?" I nodded. "He never understood my love for animals and probably never will. Those kittens- They would've died! I would never-"
"Hey!" I sat next to her, kissing her head, "They're okay now, thanks to you. Now, we just have to work on getting you better, okay?" She nodded with a smile planted on her face, "Okay."
"I- Uh- I have something else for you." I said, digging the note out of my pocket. I unfolded it, handing it to her.
There's no way I'd be able to say it out loud to her.
Bella's POV
Calum, shakily, handed me the note.
I've been meaning to tell you why I was mad for all that time. I wasn't mad at you. I promise. I was mad because I love you, and I couldn't have you. You were Luke's.
The only thing we had in common at first was Lucky. That one lucky puppy brought us together and sort of allowed us to stay together.
But he's not why I love you. I love you because you're constantly on my mind no matter how hard I try to clear it, your fiery red hair is noticeable from a mile away, your smile brightens my day, and your laugh is what keeps me up at night.
I'll never be able to show you how much I love you, but that's okay. As long as you know that I've loved you since that day in the shop, that's all that matters.
I looked up at Calum teary-eyed. "I love you, too." He leaned forward, catching my lips in his.
Calum's POV
Boy, have I been waiting for that.
