"Hey." I said, grabbing a firm hold on Fudge's leash again. I stood up, dusting myself off. "You okay? I saw you take a face full of grass from across the park. She laughed. Her laugh is cute.

"Yeah. I'm okay. Thanks." She reached over, flicking grass off my shoulder. "Missed a piece." I smiled and noticed Lucky on a leash at her feet.

"Hey, Bud." I reached down, petting his head. He wagged his tail, licking my hand. "Wow." Elle laughed. "What?" I smiled. "He's never this accepting with people."

"Really?" I looked down at the pup jumping on me. I'm surprise Fudge isn't jealous. I looked over at Fudge, who was sat, just watching the kids run around.

"Yeah. My friend came over the other day. Lucky hated him. He growled when he came in and then hid in my room when my friend sat down."

I laughed, "I wonder what his deal is." She shrugged, "I don't know. Maybe he remembers you from the shop. He's not too fond of these kids either."

"Hm..." I continued to pet him. "I thought you were working today." I said, standing up. "I was just going to see if they had and shifts open, but they didn't. I see you got a dog."

"Yeah, this is Fudge." I said. Fudge perked up at his name. He walked over to Lucky, but Lucky moved behind my legs. And soon enough, I was tangled in leashes.

"Lucky!" Elle scolded. "Fudge!" I laughed. Then I got knocked over, cracking up. "Are you- Never mind, you're laughing."

I laughed even harder at how concerned Elle was. "I'm fine." She smiled before untangling me.

"Thank you." I said, standing up. She nodded, blushing for no reason. "Aww... you're blushing." I laughed. She shoved my shoulder.

"Did you wanna come over and hang out... with Lucky?" She asked. "Maybe after I drop Fudge off at the house. I don't trust him at your place." I chuckled. "Okay, I'll text you the address?"

"Yeah." I smiled.

I stood on my toes, waiting for Elle to answer the door. "Lucky! Get back!" She laughed. I heard the dog barking at the door.

She opened the door, and Lucky bolted out the door, jumping on me. "Lucky!" She scolded. I laughed and picked up the puppy. "Missing something?" I asked. "He's never done that before!" She whined. "Aww, is somebody going to throw a tantrum because their dog likes me more?"

"Shut up and get in the house."

There was a knock at the door, interrupting mine and Elle's conversation. Lucky then started barking. "I'll hold Lucky while you answer the door."

"Thank you." She smiled. "Lucky!" I called. He bounced into my lap and I held on to his collar, petting him gently as Elle answered the door.

"Luke? You usually call." Elle said confused. Luke? No. It's got to be someone else. "Thought I'd surprise you." I froze. "You were just here this morning." But Luke was visiting his friend Bella... Wait. Oh my god. Major face palm needed.

"Well, I kind of have company." She said awkwardly. "Who?"

"Is that any of your business?" She snapped. My eyes widened. That's when Lucky started growling. "Shh..."

"As your friend, yes. You just got back in town, who can you befriend in two weeks?" He asked. "I had friends other than you before I left! And I'm more than capable of making friends in two weeks!"

"Oh, really?" He asked. She pushed the door open, revealing me. "Really."

"Calum?" Luke exclaimed. That's when Lucky jumped out of my arms, ran to Luke, and bit his leg.
