That night she couldn't sleep. Sitting up on her bed Trinity looked around the dorm they were all fast asleep, this was useless! She threw the covers of her in frustration, if she couldn't sleep she might as well explore. She pulled on a hoodie and fixed her flowing hair in to a loose ponytail, she considered slipping on a pair of shoes but decided against it, her feet weren't cold and she wasn't a huge fan of shoes in general. She ventured out of the common room and down the large hallowed halls, even the soft thud of her bare feet on the stone seemed to echo.

Suddenly she heard a sound up ahead; quickly she put out the light on her wand and stepped in to a shadow, waiting in fear to see who was coming. But no one came. She had defiantly heard something. Curiosity taking over her she stepped out of the shadow. Her heart beating violently against her chest, her hands were sweeting as she clutched tightly to her wand. Just then she noticed a dark figure sitting by a window, she jumped, dropping her wand, which fell to the floor with a loud clatter, the figure turned towards her. She scrambled to grab her wand. The figure rose from where it sat, Trinity panicked and in an impulse she pointed her wand towards it, to her shock the figure was flung against the window and landed on the floor with a groan, at that moment the moon came out from under a cloud sending a ray of silvery light, thought the window, Trinity was able to see the figure, she squinted, it couldn't be, it was, Draco.

He groaned again. She rushed over to him. 'I'm so sorry, you scared me and I'm still getting the hang of this magic stuff.' She held out her hand to help him up. 'What the hell is your problem?' He said angrily as her got up and resumed his seat. 'I know' she giggled laughing at herself. 'I always seem to be picking on you. It's not intentional I promise'. 'You shouldn't be here' he sneered 'It wouldn't do to get in to trouble on your first day now would it.' 'It might be you last' he added in a threatening tone. But she wasn't listening. She was looking out the window, the sky was the deepest black she had even seen and stars were scattered across it like bright brilliant diamonds in a sea of black velvet. 'Have you ever seen anything so beautiful?' she breathed. 'What' snapped Draco getting impatient? As she looked out the window she thought of home for the first time since she arrived, she could feel tears welling up behind her eyes, she thought about how the other students had questioned her earlier, sooner or later she would have to tell them. 'Nothing' she replied turning to face him. 'You're Draco Malfoy aren't you?' she asked realising she haven't introduced herself yet. A smirk appeared across his lips, 'I'm Trinity, Trinity Finch,' 'and why aren't you in bed, Trinity,' he snarled, 'Little girl like you should've have been asleep hours ago,' his said mockingly. She shrugged 'Couldn't sleep' He looked at her with a face like stone; she imagined that if he were to smile his face might shatter. Silvery rays on sunlight broke through the tiny squares of glass of the window and danced on his soft blond hair and against his pain skin. 'What do you think you're looking at? ' he snarled defensively, 'um...nothing' she replied at flush of deep crimson washing over her pale cheeks and she looked away. It may have been dark but still he noticed and smirked to himself. 'I better go' she got up swiftly and quickly made her way down the corridor. Why did she always have to embarrass herself like this?

She had only made it a few metres down the corridor when she realised, she didn't know where she was. She was lost. She put her head in her hands and cursed herself under her breath, as if it wasn't bad enough to be caught staring at him now she had to go back and ask for his help. She turned round; he was heading in the opposite direction, 'wait!' she called reluctantly. Draco stopped and turned. She caught up with him, 'What?' he demanded, 'I think. I think I'm a bit lost.' 'You're a smart girl you'll work it out' he snarled, turning to go. 'Hey' she said grabbing his arm 'Look I'm sorry about the running over you in the train thing,' he looked at her expectantly his hands in his pockets 'and the whole throwing you against a window situation,' He continued to look at her. 'What? What else have I done?' she said starting to feel slightly uncomfortable under his gaze. 'Nope I think that's everything covered' he replied, 'Look,' she continued 'Can you please help me, if not I'll be wondering the castle for hours, maybe even days' she exclaimed, deciding I would do no harm to throw in a bit of exaggeration. 'And you would feel really bad because it would be all your fault,' he laughed 'Would I indeed?' 'Yes' 'Fine I'll take you but only because you asked nicely' A wide grin came over her face, 'Thank you' she said as to his surprise she latched on to his arm.

'Think you can make it from here Finch?' asked Malfoy as they stopped out side her common room. 'or maybe I could show you up to your room...' a mischievous grin appeared on his lips 'No. No I think I'll make it that far on my own thanks' she replied smartly. 'Finch?' said Malfoy as she was bout to open the door. She turned. Her heart racing. She had seen enough films and read enough romantic novels to know that this was when he professed his feelings for her. 'Yes' 'Your shoes Finch' Her heart sank 'what about my shoes' she snapped 'Well, don't you have any?' asked Malfoy half mocking her but also slightly confused. She laughed 'Of course a do, don't be so ridiculous.' 'I just find them so unnecessary sometimes, don't you?' and with that she disappeared into the common room.
