Goodbye Summer (Completed)

Chapter 10

Joongki slowly opened his eyes.

Seolhyun smiled at him.
"I heard Taeyeon's voice in my sleep."
He looked around and she wasn't there.
Seolhyun giggled and shook her head.
"She was never here."

Taeyeon went to the beach.
She breathed in some fresh, salty air.
After her conversation with Seolhyun, her mind is full of questions.
It gave her a headache.
The birthday party is still going, other people were having a fun time while Taeyeon had to take some time for herself.
It feels nice to be alone sometimes, so then she can think.
She sat down, watching the sunset.
Taeyeon had to let everything sink in.
This might be the last time she will ever see the beautiful sunset at her favorite beach.
Her brother sat down next to her and gave her a strawberry banana smoothie.
"You're missing out on all the fun."

Taeyeon thanked him and took a sip of the smoothie.
"It's weird how 6 years ago we sat down exactly at this same spot and talked about life."
Kyungsoo watched the sunset and smiled without even knowing.
"Kyungsoo, I need your advice."
Taeyeon thought that he would laugh at her suggestion, but he didn't.
"Is your heart confused?"
Taeyeon widened her eyes and nodded.
"How did you know?"
He clicked his tongue and shrugged.
"I just find it weird how you've liked Joongki for such a long time, until this year your feelings for Baekhyun grew."
Taeyeon agreed.

The sound of the waves landing on shore, and the seagulls flying above sea made the scenery more beautiful.
"You know what?"
Taeyeon asked him and smiled to herself.
"Does it really matter who I like? I'm already a grown woman, soon to be an adult. I should just follow my heart from now on. I don't care what others think about my love relationship. That should be the last thing I should worry about."
Kyungsoo gave her a thumbs up and Taeyeon hugs him.
"Thank you, bro. You're always there for me."

Kyungsoo personally hate hugs, but he decides to ignore that and hugs her back.
"I've realized that this year has to be the most eventful summer and most memorable."
Taeyeon said and released the hug.
Kyungsoo stood up and brushed the sand off of him.
"Taeyeon!" Someone called her and she turned around and realized it was him.
Kyungsoo gave her this meaningful look, "Do what your heart tells you to do."
He told her.

Taeyeon stood up and ran to him.
Kyungsoo watched her and smiled sincerely.
Her eyes are only fixed on him.
"Where were you? I was looking for you-" Baekhyun's sentence was cut off when Taeyeon immediately cupped his cheeks and kissed him passionately.
Baekhyun was flustered, his cheeks turned red.
It was unexpected, he felt his heart beating even faster.
Taeyeon stopped for a moment to look at him. She laughed when she saw his reaction.
"You're so cute."
She pinched his cheek and Baekhyun pouted.
"I am not." He said cutely.
Kyungsoo walked up to them and grabbed Baekhyun's shoulder.
"I ship it."
Taeyeon mouthed the words,
"Thank you."
Kyungsoo grinned and walked away.

Baekhyun was confused,
"Did I miss something? Why is he acting so nice all of a sudden?"
Taeyeon grinned and then said,
"People change."
She holds his hand and squeezed it.
Baekhyun looks at her in the eyes.
"I love you."
And he kissed the top of her head.
