Behind The Curtain.

Alex and Blake

I held Alex and Blake just before putting them in there crib they were two years old now.

They could both crawl and climb I walked over to the dresser and pulled out some clothes I threw them on and went downstairs to work.

I couldn't believe no one found us I mean there was an occasional office and an inspection and he'd make me hide with the body in the basement but they never found me I always was afraid to scream incase he'd kill me so I never did.

I stretched then started cooking I was just about to dish out food when James came running into the house he grabbed me.

"where are the children" he said grabbing my shoulders and shaking me. "upstairs" I say and he runs up to get them he runs down with them in his arms and hands me Alex.

"that way" he screamed as he pointed to the basement. We ran to the basement and he opened it he turned on the light and I see James I knee it was him for sure he was wearing the jacket I bought him and the jeans had the same tears.

He was gagged and tied up I stopped and felt my knees go week as I started sobbing.

James started to kick and scream but the fake James pulled me away I stumbled over something.

It was Michael...he went to grab my leg but the fake James kicked him in the face he started dragging me as I heard foot steps around the room upstairs it was the police.

He dragged me to a door and we walked out to see to officers with guns James sighed as the arrested him I took my sons and they drove me to a hospital to get myself checked out.

"I sit there with my little babies in my arms as an ambulance came and took the three people away Michael James and The police officer.

We drove to a hospital as a nurse took my babies to make sure they were okay.

I sit as she examines me but I was fine."is James and Michael and the officer okay?" I asked and she looked up sadly.

"the officer is fine but, James was quite bet up but very few stab wounds he'll recover shortly" she said as she looked down.

"and Michael?" I asked nervously. She looked up her grey eyes saddened. "he suffered from tremendous blood loss he's very sick and has quite a bit of lung damage were not sure if he'll make it though the night" she said pulling back her red hair into a bun.

The words sat with me as I saw a nurse bring my babies in I smiled as a tear slipped down my cheek.

"Skyler?" my mom said walking in she wrapped her arms around me she saw the babies and covers her mouth.

"His" she asked gulps as she took Alex from my arms. I nodded I could tell Alex and Blake apart.

Blake had chocolate brown eyes like mine and so did Alex but Blake was always much more calm.

Alex had black hair also Blake had black hair like mine but Alex was a more squirmy and never sat still.

He started sucking he's fingers as black fell asleep in my arms. "were to leave soon we can visit The boys tomorrow" she said and I looked up and smiled as we walked out of the room.

When we got home it felt different it looked and even smelled different. "while you were gone...your father left" she said as we walked through the door.

"is he coming back?" I asked as she closed the door. She shook her head.

I walked down the hallway with the babies in my arms when I got up there I lay the little ones on the bed.

I walk over to the window and open it to smell the glorious fresh air.

I walked over to my old closet and smiled I could smell the the lavender aroma.

I pulled out a pair of tracksuit bottoms and a my football jersey they'd probably be the only thing that could fit me for a while.

I walk over to my desk and pick up my laptop I walked over to the bed and put on some cartoons on for Alex and Blake as I got changed.

"hey honey" my mam said as she looked over at the babies and smiled. "Sarah is downstairs you to are going shopping for the babies Ill mind them" she said sitting on the bed and feeding the mash potato and milk.

I smiled I kissed them both on the forehead and she handed me some money. "thank you" i say hugging her I walked out and went down the stairs to see Sarah sitting there.

She ran over and hugged me her hair was shorter it was a pixie cut. "skyler" she screetched out and I grinned as she played with my hair.

"It's short" she said confused. "it's still long enough to touch my hips so its not that short" I say pointing out the obvious.

We walk out the door and get onto her motorcycle. "you still have her?" I asked smiling. "yeah only crashed once" she said jokingly.

We start driving and we pull up to her house we get out and we walk inside.

"you mom can I borrow your car?" she asked as we walked in the smell of muffins filled the air.

"why?" she asked coming into the hallway and her jaw dropped.

She ran over and hugged me. "oh Sky I've missed you so much I'm glad you're safe" smiled as she handed the keys to Sarah we left the house ad got into the car.

We drove and pulled up to A store we walked in and she pulled on my arm.

Age dragged me over to a big caught..it was a baby blue and had a mobile hanging down from the top.

We paid for the crib and the men brought a box down with all the parts on it.

We walk around for a big longer and when we were leaving to go home we had a detachable buggie, a crib, baby clothes, baby formula and baby bottles.

We got to the car and put all the stuff away we hoped in and I watched the horizon as the beautiful crimson pinks, blues, purples and oranges filled the sky's sunset.

We pulled up to the house an walked in. Mam was still upstairs so we brought in the stuff we brought it upstairs and my mam and the babies were fast asleep.

I closed the window and the curtains and then woke up mam Sarah picked up Blake and started pulling funny faces.

I smiled as Alex was still asleep. "want me to stay the night?" she asked sitting Blake down on the bed.

"please" I say opening the crib box and we read over the instructions as we try figure out this contraption.

I woke up with Sarah lying across my leg and me leaning against the bed.

But Blake and Alex were gone I got up quickly with woke up Sarah and ran down the stairs I saw mum and the heard the laughter of them coming from the sitting room.

I walked in and sighed out. "hey honey sorry if I scared you and James will be coming over to see you" she said and I smiled.

I walked to the kitchen and got some breakfast I walked back into the sitting room with milk and fed the little beasts.

"Hey Claire" Sarah said walking In she sat down and we ate breakfast when we were done James pulled up I could see his car.

He came in and I hugged him he kissed my forehead and we all walked upstairs Sarah holding Blake and me holding Alex.

We closed my door and started talking.

"....James who was that person?" I asked and he looked down. "James who was he?" I asked.
