"Luna Maria Steele, get your ass out of this bed immediately! Dan is going to be here in thirty minutes!" I open my eyes, rubbing the sleep out of them, greeted by Evan standing over me. I look at my clock. It read 11:30, Dan's supposed to be here at noon.
"SHIT!" I exclaim, and push Evan aside so that I can get ready.
I make myself a coffee, and while that's brewing I change out of my pajamas and into some overalls with the pant legs cut off, so they were shorts, and a long-sleeved, green and black, plaid shirt.
I hear the Kuerig beep, and I rush out to pour myself my coffee. I reach into the cupboard and grab out a granola bar. Not a very filling breakfast, but it'll have to do. I take small sips of the coffee, hoping that I'll make it last until the afternoon, and devour my granola bar as quickly as humanly possible. Looking at the clock, I see that it's 11:40.
I rush into my room again, set my coffee down on the table, and begin doing my makeup. I only pause for a moment so I can turn on the Twisted soundtrack. I quickly apply foundation, blush, a deep red lipstick, and concealer so that I have time to focus more on my eyes today. I apply a cinnamon colored eyeshadow to my eyes, something that I haven't done in a while. After that I wing my eyeliner in a bold flick. After that I quickly slap on some mascara, brush my hair, and put my hair in pigtail braids.
When I look at the clock, it's 11:55. Good, I made it with five minutes to spare.
As I wait for Dan to arrive, I set up the recording area in my room, messily making my bed in the process. I take short breaks in order to sip my coffee.
Knock knock!
He's here! I sprint to the door and open it as quickly as possible. There, standing before me in all his glory, is Dan. He looks even more handsome than he did yesterday. I feel the blood flush my face a tinted shade of pink.
"Hey! Come on in! We'll record in my room." I greet, motioning him into the kitchen, and lead him to my room.
"Thanks so much letting me be the first guest on the Podcast, Luna." Dan says as I lead him into my room. I smile at him and nod. I would properly acknoledge what he said, but my heart is pounding to much that I fear if I open my mouth, it'll jump out and onto Dan's chest.
When we reach my room, I open the door and mentally facepalm myself. My room is so messy! My bags litter the floor, and my bed - while made - looks like it was destroyed in a hurricane.
"Welcome to my room, Dan! Pardon the mess, I haven't put all my struff away yet, also, I didn't have much time to make my bed. I over slept." I say, sitting down on my bed, and motioning for him to do the same.
"No worries. My room's currently a mess, aswell. Shall we get this show on the road?" Dan says, blowing off my messy room.
"Yeah! So, basically, I have to hook up these two microphones to my computer - which Evan kindly did for me this morning, appareantly - and turn on the mics. After that, we're getting this show on the road!" I say, fiddling with my laptop and microphones. When everything's finally in order, I tell Dan we're ready to start.
"Hello everyone, and welcome to the very first episode of Opinionated Cookies! A Podcast hosted by me, Luna Maia Steel, and today cohosted by Dan Howell - our first guest!" I say cheerily! "Now Dan, do you know what this Podcast is going to cover?" I ask Dan.
"First of all, thank you for having me! And second of all, I don't know how this works very well. Please explain!" Dan replies, looking at me expectantly.
"Well, I asked Twitter last night for some questions that they'd like answered about important issues in the world right now, fan culture, and other things that they want to know, and we discuss! Are you ready for this, Dan?" I explain.
"I think I am! What's the first question?" Dan responds. Wow, he's pretty good at this. Well of course he is! He hosts a freaking radio show, and this is pretty much this same thing! I think to myself.
I scroll through my phone for a moment, trying to find a good question.
"This one is from Olivia, and she wants to know your opinions on feminism. I'd actually be interested to know what you think about this, too." I say, passionately waiting for Dan's answer.
"My opinions on feminism... I think it's great. Women are equals to men, and they deserve to be treated as equals. I don't understand when people say they aren't feminists. I feel like the people who aren't feminists are seeing this very specific, faux version of what feminists are like, which is crazy butch women wildly protesting, when in reality it's men and women alike who just feel that women should be treated as equals."
"I completely agree, being a feminist, myself. I do a lot to try and help girls in countries where they aren't treated as equals because I feel like it's so unfair," I pause for a moment, looking for another question. "Oh! Here's a question from Danielle. She wants to know if you like turtles." I feel like I should change the theme of each question up randomly so that there's a good mix of humor and seriousness in the show.
"Well, this question's quite different than the last one. Yes, Danielle, I do like turtles. They're pretty cool I guess." Dan responds to the question as if it's a very serious question.
"I adore turtles, as well. I have a question for you that's going to elaborate upon Danielle's question." I say, matching Dan's seriousness.
"And that question is..." Dan says, his voice trailing off.
"What is your favorite kind of turtle? I like the standard painted turtle, personally." I question, making it sound as if this is a life or death situation.
"I guess sea turtles. I don't really think about this a lot. It seems like you do, though." Dan teases, winking at me. I try to hide my blush, but fail miserably.
"Hey! I've made it very clear on my channel that I love turtles and think about them a lot. I guess you don't watch my videos religously then!" I tease back.
Over the course of the hour that we record, we laugh a lot, and also talk about some serious topics, like the refugee crisis.
"And that, my friends, was Luna Maria Steele and Dan Howell. Two Opiniontated Cookies in an opinionated world." I say and stop recording.
"That was really fun, Luna. Thanks so much, again, for letting me be the first guest. Do you want to keep the discussion roling off the recording, and go somewhere for lunch?" Dan asks, running his fingers through his fringe.
"Of course! It was a pleasure having you on the show! I would love to go to lunch! How about we go to that new diner? You know, by the library?" I suggest, grabbing my small, black, leather purse, shoving my phone and wallet inside it.
"Sounds great! Let's go!" Dan says, doing the Super Mario voice, as we exit my room.
And that's exactly what we do.
