Dan and I make our way down the street to an indepentedent café in the downtown London. It has a cute and cozy vibe in to it. When we enter, I see that there are coffee tables and fluffy, but old, sofas instead of booths and tables. It gives off a very homey vibe and I instantly feel comfortable.
Dan and I sit down, and wait for a waiter to come and take our orders. We sit in silence while we wait, not an awkward 'bloodly hell get me out of this mess' kind of silence, but a comfortable silence. I take in his features. His dark brown hair, swished off to the right side of his face. His dark brown eyes and how when he smiles, really smiles, they crinkle at the corners. His slightly sun-kissed skin. Just him in general.
"You okay there, Loo?" Dan asks after a minute of this. I blush furiously as I avert my eyes from him. Was I staring? Damn, I can't help myself. I think to myself, mentally facepalming.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just - erhm, uh - lost in thought. You know, daydreaming." I say, trying to play it off as that. Judging by the weird look he gave me, it probably wasn't very convincing. Oh well, I have at least an hour to make him think otherwise.
More silence. This time, it's very uncomfortable.
"So - uh - what have you been up to recently?" I ask, still embarrassed about being caught staring.
"Oh you know, Tumblr, book writing, and preparing for Playlist. Speaking of, are you going to Playlist this year, Luna?" Dan asked. His head is cocked to the side a little, clearly curious about my answer.
"Yeah of course! I'm a guest this year and everything! That's in a few weeks, isn't it?" I say. I'm very excited for Playlist. I've been attending it for years but I've actually been invited this year! I can't wait to go this year.
"Oh yeah you have! It's going to be great!" Dan exclaims, laughing at how excited I am. I laugh, too. I laugh so hard that I'm choking on my breaths, my eyes water, and my chest hurts. I clutch the arm of my chair so that I won't topple over.
"Excuse me? Can I take your orders?" A waiter asks, scaring me, causing me to laugh longer and harder.
"I think it's best that I go first. She seems to be having troubles keeping ahold of herself." Dan smiles at me and orders. I breathe in and out several times, trying to calm down. At this point I've forgotten why I was laughing. After a few seconds I'm at least partly calm.
"I'll have a roast beef sandwhich with provalogne and a hot chocolate." I manage to choke out, wiping my eyes. God, I laugh a lot.
"Great! I'll get those going for you two!" The waiter says and walks away. Dan and I look at each other and within seconds, we're laughing again.
"T-they a-always take my order at the m-most awkward t-times!" I sputter. My face is bright red and my eyes are watering. I'm clutching the table because I'm shaking so hard.
"H-he looked s-so conf-fused!" Dan exclaimed, his face also bright red.
We sat there laughing for a few more minutes until we were out of breath. Dan looked at me and winked, making a weird face as he did so. I tried to hide my blush, which wasn't hard because my face is already bright red, and made a weird face back.
"Thanks, again, for letting me be on the Podcast. I enjoyed it. I think I learned a lot about you, as well. Like, hot damn, you really like turtles." Dan said, smiling.
"And kittens! Don't get me started on them! And malshi puppies! They're all so adorable. I just want them all!" I said excitedly, jumping up and down in my seat. Dan shakes his head in fake-shame.
"Jesus Christ, someone get this girl a pet." Dan said.
"Please oh please do! Dogs are better than people!" I teased, beaming from ear to ear.
The food arrives and we ate for twenty minutes or so. When we were finished, we payed and headed out from the small café.
"It was lovely talking to you, Luna." Dan smiled warmly, and embraced me. My cheeks lit up and electricity shot through me.
It was at that moment, that I realized that I liked him.
A/N: Yeah, it's been a month, yeah, it was a short chapter, I know. But I really want to write this next chapter so deal with this short one. Sorry for the wait
