"You make it sound so much easier than it is." Chance says to me as he sits beside me on the bed, staring down at his fingers in his lap. "No matter how hard I try, I always end up at square one when it comes to figuring out the details of the secret society."

"Well, you haven't had us as a team." I provide as I glance over at Lacey, who passes me a smile and a nod before grabbing a black laptop off of the floor and placing it on the desk. "We can find these people."

Chance hesitates, but then looks at me and says, "What on earth would we do then? How would we end the secret society?"

I shrug, but let my mouth run.

"We could somehow prove that the people in the secret society are guilty of the crimes they committed and have them arrested?" I offer as I swing my legs off the left side of the bed to begin pacing the floor.

"And how do you propose we do that, smart one?" Chance asks me, his light eyebrows raised as his dark eyes become trained on mine. "Just walk in there like we did with the Gun? It isn't going to be that easy!"

I stop pacing the floor and freeze. "Oh my gosh, Chance, you're a genius! That is exactly what we need to do!"

"Crazy girl says what now?" Soyer replies nervously as he walks around the bed to stand in front of me.

"We need to figure out a way to get in! To collect intel, meet some of the people, maybe hack some files." I respond with a smile as it all snaps together in my mind. "All we'd need to do is go undercover!"

"I'm staring at an idiot, aren't I?" Soyer mutters as he grabs my shoulders. "Did you not hear what Chance said?? The secret society is dangerous. They killed two people that we know of and probably more than that! Going undercover is a fool's idea!!"

"Do you have any better plans?!" I fire back at him and shrug his hands off of me, watching as his pupils flicker larger in size. "Because I don't think we'd be able to find their base and take it down. We don't have the resources nor the man power."

"Well, we could..." Soyer starts, but then lets his right hand rise to his chin, that is starting to grow dark hairs from the absence of a razor. "We could think of something else."

Soyer glares at me with those soft caramel eyes and then plops himself across the table from Lacey. He asks her, "You have to have some common sense, don't you?!"

Lacey stops typing on the black laptop and peers up at Soyer, but she doesn't say anything. Instead, she tilts her head to the side and shrugs.

"What would you even do if you went undercover? Huh?" Soyer counters with a look of concern plastered on his tan facial features. "Kill the people responsible for your brother's death when you figure out who did it?!"

I hesitate and glance over at Chance, who studies me without an expression on his face.

"No, I wouldn't kill them. I would spend as much time as I need undercover to collect proof of illegal practice and proof that the two snipers killed my brother so that they can be arrested." I decide and then walk over to the door only to lean my back against it. "Whatever the cost is, I'm willing to sacrifice it."

"But how would you gather the information? It's not like you'll have a chance to send mail to the police while you are inside a place full of killers." Lacey chimes in, her voice sounding more worried than uncertain.

"Actually..." Chance stands up from the bed and crosses his arms in front of his chest. "I have something that will capture any evidence she comes across."
