Gate Crashers
I was the daughter of Lilith, the top she-demon of the underworld. A real first class evil bitch. Yet, she had hid me in the human realm. To protect me or to keep me alive for some agenda she had, I had no clue. That meant that my father was an angel. My parents said she never mentioned who he was, only that he did not know I existed.
"Earth to Kyra. Jeez you really need to stop spacing on me!"
Lucy was waving her hand in front of my face.
"Sorry," I apologised, "I've just been so out of it recently."
"Tell me about it. So who is he?"
My brow furrowed in confusion, "What?"
"The guy your moping around after," she smiled wickedly, "he must be super hot to make you go all dreamy like that."
Nathaniel.
"I wasn't thinking about him, I was thinking about something else."
"So there IS a guy!" she squealed then hit me with a pillow from my bed, "Go on spill!"
I couldn't help but smile when I thought of him, "He's... not from here."
"Ooh, a foreigner. Where's he from, America? France? Spain?!"
I laughed, knowing he was from somewhere way above our heads, "I'm not entirely sure, he didn't tell me."
"He doesn't have to tell you! What kind of accent does he have?"
"Oh...uh... European. Definitely European."
Lucy flopped back onto my bed and stared at the ceiling, "You met a European guy and didn't tell your best friend, that is shocking."
"Well, I didn't really know where it was going between us. He was kinda strange at first..." I drifted off, wondering how our relationship had escalated so quickly. Usually I like to take things slow.
"Oh the mysterious man," she giggled, doing some strange voodoo gestures for emphasis. She rolled onto her stomach and examined me, "Have you slept with him?"
I started to feel uncomfortable underneath her scrutiny, "No."
Lucy let out a girlish squeal and hit me with a pillow again, "Liar! You totally have, I can tell!"
I gestured wildly for her to keep her voice down, "Jesus Luce, are you trying to tell the whole country?"
She winked at me, "Oh you slut!"
I rolled my eyes, "Says the girl who has a new guy every weekend."
"It keeps life interesting," she smiled wickedly, "So what's lover boys name and when do I get to meet him?"
"His name is... Nick and you can't meet him, he's going back home in a few days."
"Summer lovin', happened so fast," she sang which made me groan in distaste. I hated that movie. Grease, ugh.
I threw my other pillow at her, "Oh shut up would you?"
She continued to sing it.
I was just about to put the pillow over my face and try to block the sound of that awful song when movement caught the corner of my eye. I turned and there stood Nathaniel, leaning against the wall like he belonged in my room. I jumped out of my skin.
"Holy shit!" I exclaimed as my heart hammered against my ribs. Nathaniel chuckled.
"What?" said Lucy, scanning the room to see what had startled me.
