"Wow," I say. "Just, wow."

I look over the cottage in awe- it looks nothing like it did when we started. The appliances look like new, the floor almost shines, no dirt or debris in sight. I've even managed to figure out how the TV that was left in here works (although I'm surprised it wasn't destroyed.)

All that's left is to get some furniture and things- in other words add the finishing touches.

"I know, right," Serenity says.

"Hey, what time is it," I ask.

"Three fifteen," she replies, glancing at her watch.

"Do you mind taking me to town to buy furnishings," I request.

"No problem."

--------------------------

We're in the checkout line at Target. I have picked out a new comforter for my bed, two bean bags, a hot pink mini fridge, some cheap plastic glasses and plates, silverware, a cute, black faux fur, circle carpet, some new clothes (five tops, one sweater, two pairs of pajamas, and a new pair of boots, along with a pack of socks), dish soap, and some staple foods like rice and pasta. I also bought a new pillow with a lavender pillow case, because my other ones are just disgusting.

It all cost around 500 dollars, but I think it was worth it. I only have about 450 dollars left, and I hope that will last me for a while. All I really have to buy is food, and after I've been at the ranch for a while, maybe I can ask Corrine if I can have a small salary. Just for food, maybe 70 dollars a week. Just enough for me to eat.

"Is that all," the short redhead behind the counter asks.

"Yeah, that's it," I reply sweetly.

Serenity and I take all of the stuff out to the truck, then load in.

She turns the key in the ignition, and backs out of the parking space.

"So Taylor, where are you from?" she asks. I don't know what to say. I mean, I can't tell her the truth, can I? Crap, I need to answer now, I've been silent for too long.

"I don't really like talking about it," I quietly respond, not wanting to lie, but not wanting to tell the truth.

"It's okay. But Taylor? I want you to know you can trust me. I promise I'll never stab you in the back. I don't know that much about you, but I can tell you've been through a lot. Whatever it is, when you're ready, you can tell me."

"I trust you Serenity, I do. But- you're right I have been through a lot, and it's hard for me to talk about. But don't think that I don't trust you," I reply.

We stop at a red light, and exchange meaningful glances. I give a weak smile, and she returns it.

A car honks behind us when the light turns green, and she slams in the gas.

------------------

"Hey, thanks for helping me decorate today," I say, as we put the horses back in their stalls to be fed.

"No problem. I had a lot of fun."

This day has gone by so fast. I remember Serenity saying we had a guest coming in tomorrow- I wonder what they'll be like. I hope they're not monsters, like Barbie- I mean Chloe.

When we finishes boarding them up for the night, we scoop food into their buckets, which doesn't take as long as you would think it would.

Then we double check all of the stalls to make sure they are locked.

Before we close up the barn for the night, I go to check on Ezhno.

He whinnies excitedly when he sees me. I kiss him right under his forelock, and stroke his mane.

"I'm sorry I was so busy today boy. But, I have to work now so we can stay here. I've got to go, but I'll be back in the morning, okay?"

After I pet him for a while, I head out where Serenity is, and help her lock up.

"I guess I'm going to go home and start my dinner," I state.

"If you want, you can eat at my place. Well, Corrine's place, but you know what I mean," she offers.

"That would be great," I thankfully agree. I don't think bland pasta, which is what I was planning on cooking, would taste very good.

"Ok, come with me," she happily replies.

We stroll off towards the large farmhouse that sits at the front of the property. I'm assuming that's where Corrine lives.

A/N Hey thanks for reading. Again, this chapter is just a filler and it's not my favorite. I think this book is actually getting a little boring, but I'm pushing through because I do have a plan. Just stay tuned =]
