We've tacked up and mounted, and for once, I'm actually using a saddle, and a bridle. Normally I ride Ezhno tackless, but for some reason, I feel the need for the security of tack.
Carter tacked up Smokey, wanting to get him some trail experience before they find him a home.
"How fast can that boy run," I ask, my eyes lighting up in a challenge.
"I'm sure he's not as fast as Ezhno," Carter chuckles.
"Let's see about that," I retort, digging my heels into Ezhno's sides. In an instant, he takes off galloping. I laugh, knowing that Carter won't catch up to me.
And I'm utterly surprised and shocked when I see a blur of grey fly past Ezhno and I. Wow, that little Quarter Horse can run!
"Not as fast as us," I mumble, urging Ezhno to go faster. He eagerly complies, going faster and faster till everything around us is a blur. We clear the distance between Carter and Smokey, but we struggle to keep it that way.
Eventually, both of our horses tire out, which for Ezhno, I thought was impossible.
We halt the horses right by a tall tree, which I notice has apples growing all over it. I smile to myself at the simplicity of an apple tree standing alone in a field. It reminds me of a picture you'd see as the screen saver of a computer.
I dismount Ezhno, and hook his reigns onto the saddle horn. Glancing up into the tree, I realize that I really want an apple right now- they look so perfect and sweet.
I grab onto a branch, and lift myself into the nest of the tree. Then I pick off four of the best looking apples, making sure to double check for worm holes.
I look down to ground, and see Carter has dismounted. He's looking up at me, and his eyes seem to be laughing, although I know that's not possible.
"What? I wanted an apple," I laugh.
"I didn't say anything," he retorts.
I sling my legs over the edge of the tree, and reach the apples out towards Carter, earning me a questioning look from him.
"Hold the apples so I can climb down," I say, as if it were obvious- which it kind of is.
He takes them from me, and I easily jump down, landing squarely on my feet.
Once I'm on the ground, he hands them back to me, but only take three of the four.
"Ones for you," I offer. He smiles, and bites into it.
I give each horse an apple, and keep one for myself.
After we all finish, I suggest going home. I need to get the first parent meeting thing out of the way.
I'm about to climb up on Ezhno, but Carter spins me around toward him.
He leans down, and kisses me lightly on the forehead.
"Please never runaway again," he whispers in my ear.
"You don't have to worry about that."
----------------------
It takes about an hour to get back, mostly because we aren't pushing the horses to go fast, so we walked most of the way.
When the house comes into view, my heart quickens. I can't believe that I'm nervous to meet them, but I am. I shouldn't be though- they were close to my parents, so close that they are basically breaking the law by housing me.
But still, I'm nervous. What if they don't like me? Or what if, they do like me, but they don't like the fact that I'm dating Carter.
Wait, I'm dating Carter? He did say I was his girlfriend at the Gala, but we've never been on an official 'date' per say.
Ugh, this is just too complicated. But it's something I have to do.
We dismount the horses, untack them and put them up in their stalls.
I find myself staring at the front door of the house, and feel Carter grab my hand.
"You ready?"
"As I'll ever be," I sigh, before he opens the door.

Heyy. What did you think?
Random Question
Western or English?
I like riding Western, but I know some people ride western and hold the reigns with one hand, but I hold them with both hands.
Thanks for reading! Have a good day my lovelies
Oh an bonus question! I am thinking of watching 'Halloween' (the original, not the new one) or 'A Nightmare on Elm Street' (also the original). Have any if you watched them? How scary are they, because I'm a scaredy cat, but I want to watch them anyway. Lol, thanks =]
