About two months have passed and they were both about 150 miles from the border.

They had completely ran out of food and water. Mitch was dangerously skinny and his skin was giving off a yellow glow.

Scott had lost some of his muscle mass and both of their feet began to blister. Most of the time Mitch was being carried by Scott, so Scotts feet were getting the worst of it.

Mitch weakly lifted his head from Scotts shoulder to listen carefully, "D-Do you hear that?"

Scott stopped walking and listened to the faint train that could be heard in the distance.

Scott looked around him and to the side was the shiny metal tracks. Scott smiled and started walking towards them, to see the cargo loading station better.

When they got there Mitch hopped off of Scott and pointed towards a pile of crates.

Scott held out his hand for Mitch to take and started limping towards the crates.

When the train rolled around Scott threw on Mitch's hijab and walked up to the lady who was throwing the crates on the train.

"Miss? Is there room for us?" Scott croaked out.

The lady looked at them and widened her eyes at how skinny they both were, "Umm, sorry folks we don't have room."

Mitch leaned on his hip, "P-Please? You don't understand how long we have been walking."

The lady scratched her head and looked in the train, "This train is going to the other country. And you two both need medical help as soon as possible."

Mitch nodded, "We will at the new country, please miss?"

The lady sighed and opened up the door again reluctantly, "Fine, only because you two are one the verge of death. Especially you, do you have yellow fever?"

Mitch looked at her curiously, "Yellow fever?"

The lady examined his arm, "Yeah, your skin is a little yellow and you aren't looking too good."

Mitch turned to look at Scott and leaned on his for support. Scott let his mouth hang open a little and shoved Mitch in the train cart, "Thank you miss!"

The door shut and Scott looked at Mitch with large eyes, "Mitch, you have yellow fever!"

Mitch cocked his head slightly, "I don't know what that is."

Scott ran his hands over his head, "It's a sickness that shuts down all your organs! How have I been so fucking stupid not to realize it? You have had muscle pain and vomiting everyday!"

Mitch didn't respond right away and felt the train start to move, "We can get a doctor when we get to the new country."

Scott sighed and put a hand on Mitch's thigh, "Don't fall asleep, please."

Mitch squeezed his eyes shut and moved so his head was on Scotts lap, "Why?"

Scott ran his fingers through Mitch's hair and kissed his lips softly, "Because I'm surprised you haven't died yet to be honest, you have had this fever for months now. It could take you away from me at any time."

Mitch's breath hitched and gripped Scotts shirt. He let the sentence over come then for a second, "If I do did, I want you to know that I am in love with you. The only thing that was keeping me going was the thought of us being together and married in the new land. You are the one that showed me what real love was, and I will always love you no matter what."

Scott tucked Mitch's bangs behind his ear and connected their lips in a passionate kiss, "I am in love with you too baby. I would like to grow old with you and have children some day."

Mitch blushed and blinked slowly, "I'm tired."

Scott kissed Mitch's forehead, "Don't go to sleep baby boy, just look at me."

Mitch stared up at Scotts blue eyes and yawned, "Do you think they have food here or water?"

Scott looked around for a second and put a hand on Mitch's chest, "I don't think so, we can look in a crate and see if they are hauling fruit."

Mitch weakly nodded and rested his hand on Scotts. Scott pulled a crate towards them and peeled the tape off of it.

He opened it up and there were several apples rolling around. Scott sighed in relief and took one out to hand to Mitch.

Mitch felt the fruit in his hands and took a bite out of it, savoring the taste. Scott rested his head on the wall as he ate.

"I'm still hungry." Mitch whispered while putting a hand over his stomach.

Scott handed him another apple and rubbed small circles on Mitch's stomach with his thumb.

"Are you okay? Do you think you need to throw up again?" Scott asked as Mitch stopped eating his apple.

Mitch whimpered quietly, "My tummy just hurts now."

Scott leaned down and placed a kiss on Mitch's stomach and continued to rub it.

"What can I do to help darling?" Scott asked sweetly.

Mitch closed his eyes and started to sweat and get chills, "I-I dunno."

Scott dropped the food he was eating and started to run his fingers through Mitch's hair.

He kissed Mitch's forehead every so often, feeling his rising temperature.

"Just a little more Mitchie." Scott whispered.

~

Mitch stayed in that state the rest of the ride. Scott was too terrified to do anything except comfort Mitch.

They both felt the train stop and looked at each other. Scott weakly smiled and saw that Mitch couldn't form a smile.

"Baby?" Scott asked.

Mitch didn't respond but gently squeezed his hand to know he wasn't dead.

Scott started to panic and tried to listen to what was going on outside. He heard several people asking for a passport and then he felt the the train start to pull foreword.

Scott watched Mitch's face and saw that his eyes were half open, but slowly closing.

"Honey, don't close your eyes." Scott said while kissing his lips softly.

Mitch blinked a few times and clutched his stomach. He tilted his head to empty his stomach for the fifth time within the hour.

Scott watched and sighed quietly, "Just a little more until a doctors, okay sweetie?"

Scott put a hand over Mitch's heart to make sure it was still beating and kissed his forehead.

Scott felt the train pick up speed and then start to slow down after a few minutes to come to a complete stop.

Scott jumped when he saw the door open and the girl that let them on telling them to get out.

Scott looked down at Mitch who's mouth was parted and too weak to get up.

Scott picked up his small body and jumped out of the train, "How far is a hospital?"

The lady thought for a second, "I don't think too far, look at the map."

Scott nodded and started to go as fast as he could to find a map of the city they were in.
