J.J.K
We were all done eating. Na-Eun was washing the dishes and so I scooted in and helped her with it. She seemed startled though, but she just let me be. As we were washing the dishes in complete silence, with just the running water and the sound of the plates and utensils visibly heard, I sighed, making her turn towards me, raising her eyebrows.
And she's still that concerned little girl I once fell in love with.
“Is there anything wrong, Jungkook?” she asked me. Ah, a familiar memory just flashed through my mind. Eun and I were like eight or nine years old when this happened. Familiar to this scene, I ate at their place, and Eun insisted to wash the dishes.
I questioned her that day, they had maids, why would she like to do that? She answered me this, “They've worked hard enough, they've taken care of me for these past few years, and Jasper and I may be too much for their salary. I just want to repay them even in the simplest of ways.” Yes. A girl like her does exist.
And now, back to her question. I gave her a faint smile before finally saying, “Hey . . . can you call me Guk again?” I asked, biting my bottom lip as I fixated my gaze towards the dishes.
I guess Na-Eun found it obvious that I was distracticing myself, and so she turned the faucet off and turned towards me, her waist leaning on the sink, she crossed her arms. And as I took a sideward glance, I can tell that her head was tilted, whilst smirking.
“And why is that, Jungkook?” She asked, wiggling her eyebrows. At moments like this, I'd like to imagine that everything was fine and she wasn't caught up in an arranged marriage with my brother.
That tease. She always grew a fond of teasing me even when we were kids. She was never shy to do so, unlike the other girls I tried to hook up of course. Sana did tease me but she'd just take it back afterwards, quickly saying sorry.
And here we have Na-Eun, someone who'd tease me mercilessly and never get tired of doing so. And also, with a single apology to be heard after it. She and Hyenee can get along so well.
“Just because,” I darted my eyes elsewhere.
“Alright,” she answered then smiled at me, “Guk.”
That felt so good, actually. As if I just had triumph over my brother! As if I just passed a level ahead of him. Who would've thought that she'd just agree to that?
“I'm going to ask you something, Guk,” she told me. I nodded, turning towards her to indicate that it was alright. She removed her gloves and put it aside, and so I did so as well. I crossed my arms as I leaned my butt on the sink, my head turning towards her. “Were you perhaps . . . jealous earlier?”
Well - I wasn't ready for that question at all. “I know, it's a sudden question,” she explained, “but I just figured. You were acting all, well, possesive earlier. And well . . . just to tell you . . . I don't really wanna assume but something's going on between you and Junghyun, and I felt like . . . how do I say this?”
“Smart girl,” I started to smirk, tilting my head, extending my arm to pat her head. Her eyebrows creased at my actions. “Ah forgive me, I meant smart lady. You caught up, that's good. Yeah. I was a bit jealous earlier, and I guess my brother was too.”
