Junghyun sighed, massaging his temples as he stared at the unfinished paperwork that his father left for him. It didn't really bother him that much, actually. What really bothered him was his somewhat insecurity towards his own brother, Jungkook.
He felt the urge to compete with him. Maybe that was it, just a competition. That's what he wants. Surely he doesn't have any special feelings towards Na-Eun. He was so sure of that.
“Competition. Just a competition.” he told himself. His thoughts were suddenly interrupted once he received a phone call. His forehead creased upon seeing an unfamiliar number pop up on his phone screen.
He was starting to hesitate on whether he should answer it or not. But he figured that it was just a simple phone call, what harm could be done?
“Junghyun, sugar! Finally! Why did you block my previous number, hm?”
In an instant, Junghyun ended the call and immediately blocked the number. He didn't have time to play hard-to-get with Lani - a girl who is head-over-heels for him.
Just after he blocked her number, a knock was heard on his door. There, his secretary went in and bowed at him, “Mr. Jeon, a visitor named Lani wishes to see you.”
“Damn it,” he cursed. He figured that it was no use to send Lani home since she'd surely find a way to at least talk to him - like a stalker.
He stood up from his swivel chair and brought his sleeves up. “Bring her in,” he groggily told his secretary.
His secretray nodded, feeling a bit amused that he gave permission to let Lani enter. Once Lani did enter, Junghyun began to rethink his decision.
“Yes, Miss Han?” Junghyun formally asked her, prompting Lani to pout.
Lani casually sat on the chair near Junghyun and looked around. “Your office in America's way better,” she shrugged.
“Please state the reason of your visit, Miss Han. I'm a very busy person.”
“I heard you're engaged,” Lani's smile tightened, darting her eyes towards Junghyun. She seemed so devious for a moment that it took the male aback for a moment, “so who's the lucky hoe?”
Junghyun rolled his eyes, forgetting how much a bitch Lani could be at times. “It's classified.”
“By classified, you do mean Lee Na-Eun, right?”
Junghyun froze for a moment, he could already imagine what Lani could do with Na-Eun. It was somehow unpleasant to think of. Junghyun found it peculiar on how he was actually worrying for the lady.
It's just a competition. Junghyun mentally told himself.
“So it is her,” Lani shook her head in disbelief, “hm. What a classy hoe, you've got then. I always see her name at the list in the black and white party. She rarely attends, though.”
