suicide's note

the river sang to me

its voice alluring me to the edge

in return, it asked me for a kiss

and i complied, taking a daring dive off the ledge.

and the sea had swept me away

when i had meant to fall sleep

instead the waves had caressed me

and rocked me gently into a dreamless deep.

and, you see, both of them were kind

their eyes oh so warming and smiles oh so wide

if only someone loved me like they had

then perhaps i might have never died.
